Just prior to being braced I invested in a new sonicare toothbrush and a waterpik ultra cordless WP450 - I bought both online at www.sonicaredirect.co.uk which seemed to be best UK prices (think they are still offering free delivery on orders over £25 too!)

I love my waterpik! It literally does powerwash all the debris out of my metalwork!! We don't have an electric socket in our bathroom or the space to put the larger mains operated unit so this seems like a good solution.

Again hope this helps!
I am glad it's working well for you! I needed to hear a positive review about this one before investing in it  . I will take a look and keep it in mind until after my consultation. Money is a bit tight right now and got to pay out £130 on Monday for consultation. I do definitely want to get one of these though.

I could do, but it's not really convenient as the nearest plug socket is over 10 feet away. I also have 0 counter space/storage in my bathroom. It's that bad I can't even store my electric toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, floss etc in there, I store them upstairs (which I am fed up with! those stairs kill me!). I know that sounds silly, but seriously, my bathroom is tiny and is downstairs, off the kitchen. So I think the big daddy waterpik isn't for me, if anything it will have to be a rechargeable battery one.

Dilema -

Have you powerwashed your bathroom mirror, yet? I have... a few times... I've even powerwashed my eyeball a couple times because I didn't angle the attachment properly.

I have a Waterpik but haven't used it yet because I was just braced on Thursday and am still moderately sore. I also am worried that it is so strong it might make my spacers come out... do you think it would?

I would use it carefully and obviously not between the teeth with spacers. I honestly thought that using warm water and baking soda really helped my gums when they were super sore those first few months. I liken it to a tooth/gum massage. Just make sure you start at one and gradually increase power as your gums become less sensitive.

I just got mine at Costco. The box contained a WP 100 and a portable WP360. 12 tips included for $79.99 + taxes Canadian. I can't wait to try it out. I was hoping I wouldn't have to use string floss with this. :(

I got the same combo. The WP100 is quite strong, IMO, and I can't use it on anything over 6 (I usually only use it on 4 and even that is strong for me). I like the WP360 because even on high it isn't very strong. They definitely can't be used to replace floss because even on a strong setting they don't get between the teeth, they just get stuff from in the crevices of the mouth. :)

You don't really need to see what you're doing, and it would be a huge mess if you tried. You feel it, and thats really all you need. It might not make sense till you use it, then you'll understand. Good luck, and really....keep your head down. I've been using mine for months and months and i managed to spray my foot the other day. :D

Sadly I'm in the UK so can't help with local stockists, but I LOVE mine! (I have the spam, but close enough...)

I've got pretty good with mine. I use it with my mouth closed for a few teeth, turn off and spit, and repeat until I'm all down. I found it less messy. (Yes, I've powerwashed the mirror. And most of my face. Repeatedly.)

I've actually used it to repleace flossing completely, and my hygenist is very impressed. My gums are healthier than ever before, and my levels of calculus or whatever it is the hygenist scrapes off your teeth are way down despite having lingual braces. So it's working for me!

Happy squirting!
