You do look great, fabulous results! Now for the question: what was your brushing routine, dental cleaning frequencies and were there any surprises once the brackets came off?

Wow! Thanks for all the supportive and wonderful responses! This is such a fantastic community :D

As for the questions:

Ellebraced: Yes, treatment did go as planned. Despite having to have seven extractions I was very lucky. I was quoted at 18 months and got them removed at 18 months and 9 days. I did have to wear elastics for the last few months (during the day and then just at night) which was unexpected but manageable.

Lunchababe: Brushing routine was maybe not as rigid as some. I didn't brush after every single meal, but I think about three times a day was my average. Flossed at least 3-4 times a week, and saw my dentist once every six months during my treatment. I was only really surprised at how great they looked when they came off! My ortho polished the glue off and even filed down my 'jagged' ends of my two front teeth so they look straighter, and the whole process only took 30 minutes (including gluing permanent retainers).

I can't say enough how worth it everything was. I'm so glad I did this and proud of myself for going through with it. I hope that everyone reading this feels the same about their choice to be braced, or if not, that you will soon!!

That's really great to hear about your cleaning routine. I know I, and a lot of others on here, are pretty paranoid about brushing too hard, too soft, too often, etc etc. So to hear your story, makes me worry a little bit less!

Your teeth look great! Thanks for sharing the brushing routine. I'm getting braced today, and that's one of the things I worry about - keeping everything clean.
