Hi--I am new here...just today I made my appts for spacers and then braces..
I will be in Damon Q braces on May 17 and the ortho said something about buccal molar bands--like I may not like it or something.
What are they?
Buccal Molar Bands

Re: Buccal Molar Bands
I presume they are bands as opposed to brackets placed on the molars with buccal tubes for the wires. To my knowledge all molar brackets or bands have buccal tubes and hooks. Learn about, but don't get hung up worrying about the particulars, leave that to the Otho you will be fine. Best of luck.

Oh and Damon Qs are touted as being top of the line technologically.

Re: Buccal Molar Bands
Buccal is the name of the surface of the tooth. The cheekside. A buccal molar band is a metal band that goes all the way around the tooth with the bracket facing the buccal side of the tooth - toward the cheekside.
