Maxilla advice

Hi all, i have come back on this forrum for some advice on maxillary surgery.
I have been having several issues with regards to my jaw problems, my jaw muscles feel tight and eventually give way to fatigue living me with a open mouth posture occasionally.

I believe this may be due to vertical maxillary excess where the maxillary has grown downwards too much.
My bite in general in not that bad, all my teeth meet apart from the maxillary incisors which are slightly slayed forward.

My question is in my case where all the teeth meet, if i was to have a maxillary impaction surgery to reduce the vertical maxillary excess, will the maxilla likely to be only moved up? or will it be moved forward a little too? I will value all advice. Many Thanks

I will be having lefort 1 surgery the 16th, of may. My ortho and OS have said that the lower jaw rotates a bit forward as the upper jaw is lifted, so I they might have to move it a little bit forward as well.

hi Lingualita. I seen you story link, and wish you the very best on your surgery. I'm sure your in good hands, and i'm postive it'll all be worth it in the end.

Can you tell me if you suffer from from any jaw muscle pain with is directly related to the Vertical Maxillary Excess? And do you have any speech problem etc?

My answer is no to both questions. My problems are mainly that I show A LOT of teeth when I speak, gums when I laugh and strain when closing my mouth.

Have you discussed your case with an ortho/OS?

I have; but i'm finding it extremely difficult in getting anywhere. I've seen two surgeons who having diagnosed me with mild midface hyposlasia think i'm not a candidate for surgery.
But i've seen other medical proffessionals who specialize in another field that feel i DO need surgical intevention. Im at a loss. I wish i didnt need any treatment as my teeth are in good shape, but my current bite is causing me a lot of problems which cannot be treated without surgery.

After doing some searches on this forum, Ive come to know this arbitrary reason for not performing surgery is pretty rampant. Theirs others like myself on this forum that have been refused treatment.
I think surgeons are just being extra carefull to prevent making any adverse changes.
