Bristol Palin's corrective jaw surgery
Anyone else read about this? Turns out she had orthognathic surgery! I don't recall seeing her in braces but here is a link:

I think she looks great. I wonder who her surgeon was...???

her teeth/jaw looked fine before. i dont think she had jaw surgery. she had something else done.
Re: Bristol Palin's corrective jaw surgery
IMO, she didn't have jaw surgery. Looks like she she had some lipo under her chin to get rid of the double chin she had previously and a chin implant. But hey, I'm no oral surgeon, what would I know

Personally I think it is just another "celebrity" grasping at straws for an excuse for cosmetic surgery. It's like how almost every celebrity who gets a nose job cries "deviated septum". Perhaps she did have jaw issues, who knows. But the lack of braces and her final result lead me to believe otherwise. I believe there have been OS's who have weighed in and said they didn't believe her changes were the result of orthognathic surgery.

Nothing wrong with getting surgery to improve one's self-esteem/looks, dunno why she needs to make any excuses to the public.
Re: Bristol Palin's corrective jaw surgery
Even if she did have corrective jaw surgery, she obviously had genioplasty which for her had to just be cosmetic.
I agree with the last post, Why are "celebrities" so secretive about having things done!

Agreed. Cosmetic surgery is a personal decision and Bristol is entitled to do as she pleases and people should respect that. I am only irked by her saying she had "corrective jaw surgery" because, I am sorry, it does not look like she did, and so I feel that is is rude to those who are actually suffering from a jaw discrepancy. It provides false information about a real problem that people suffer from, all because she is too childish to own up to her decisions. For that, I give her a big thumbs down.

Yup, no need to lie about the reasons. It just adds to the confusion around orthognathic surgery and the reasons for having it.bracedfaced wrote:Agreed. It does look like to me judging by these pics, that she did have jaw surgery although it also seems she may have had lipo too under her chin. This is not uncommon for jaw surgery patients and it seems like a good time to have it while the person is under anesthesia. I personally think it is great that she is talking about it, regardless of how she prefaces it.

Re: Bristol Palin's corrective jaw surgery
There is no way she could have had actual jaw surgery. Her teeth were perfectly lined up before and after. Genioplasty, yes. That is what I believe she had.
Re: Bristol Palin's corrective jaw surgery
I'm glad it is being talked about at all. I didn't even know this existed before.

Re: Bristol Palin's corrective jaw surgery
I don't know guys.
You say her teeth were perfectly lined up before, but were they? If she is anything like me, she was probably compensating by moving her jaw to where it should be and holding it there, but that's not the natural resting point of the jaw. I know I do this without thinking with my receded jaw...it's so automatic that I can't even consciously tell where my "resting bite" is.
But honestly the chin implant or whatever she had done there was a bad choice. Her jaw looks better but overall, she looked better pre-surgery because of her chin. Her new chin makes her face look very long.

Re: Bristol Palin's corrective jaw surgery
She lost weight, quite a bit of it, so that will slim down the face. She is also "painting" her eyebrows now with a high arch...that will also make the face appear longer and thinner, it's amazing what make up can do. She did have corrective jaw surgery as well as veneers...my mother is a dental ceramist (for 35 years now) and knows the dentist and the surgeon that performed Bristol's surgery and the veneer work. There wasn't any implants or facial lifts whatsoever...this is the real deal folks, no plastic surgery there.
My story in this forum:

Re: Bristol Palin's corrective jaw surgery
Thanks for info on this. Do you happen to know what type of surgery she had i.e. upper/lower, lower only etc. Just curious.
