Your teeth look so amazing!!!

Thank you so much for sharing your story and pictures. It makes me feel good about my decision to get braces when I read your posts.

I was thinking that maybe the Tech you had, Abby, is new and she is getting braces soon. You never know.

Hey Guys!!!

I had a wonderful long post written out and what happened? I hit the wrong button and deleted the whole thing! Oh! What a world!

Anywho...Thank you all for your wonderful words, as always you all brightened my day! :D

I am very pleased with my progress so far and hope things continue to progress right along. Especially since I've been a little forgetful about wearing my elastics and flossing. It's best to floss at night before bed and a lot of times I'm just too lazy to grab the threader and floss. In all actuality it only takes me about 5-8 minutes to do it...yup, sheer embarassment.

Klobird!
Hello! I've been stalking your thread for a moment. One day soon I am going to leave a comment! It really helps to see someone who has the same issue as you. Another thing that encourages me to continue on AW is I couldn't find much information on 1st bicuspid extractions for an overjet which was the scariest part of the journey for me. I'm glad I could help. The good part is even within 2 weeks of orthodontia, your teeth already have a noticeable change, even if you can't tell. :)

kmluvgod! Welcome to the community!

I'm gonna check out your thread. Ah! The lingering agony of extractions! What would we do without them? :P What part of NC do you live in?

TinkB!

Thank you! I'm glad I could help! I'll check your thread as well! As for the Tech, I thought about that same thing but she's been working there for 4+ years. I came to the conclusion that not everyone cares to have braces. Abby doesn't have a bad facial profile at all, so I was thinking...she probably just doesn't care to have them.

Beauty is Pain!

I forgot to respond to your last post before this one!!! I've been forgetting a lot of stuff for the last month now. :?

That happened to me too! They put buccal tubes on my 1st lower molars which have fillings and I bit them right off! The Ortho's office I started with did the upper row to see how they would hold up and then put the second row on. It was quite shocking but I was so excited I didn't even care! It did take less time, probably about an hour and 15 minutes. And my lips didn't get that dry. :). I think bite turbos help with deep bites to keep you from biting the lower brackets off. Or at least that's one of their functions. :P I really hope I don't go for the full 30. :(

So long for now!!!

Hey HeyBuckey! I am hoping and hoping that the bracket on the filling won't come off again...because otherwise, they need to change the filling :/ not too keen for that.....ah hehhe I hate it when that happens! Anyhow, I love your teeth, near perfection...ah here is me, getting impatient and I havn't even had my first adjustment yet.

Wow! I haven't been on in a whille!

Kmluvgod! Back atcha :D How are the teeth coming? I am in Raleigh, which is about 2-2.5 hours away I believe. Your closer to the ocean which makes me jealous! The pictures do things you'd never believe, and they keep people engaged in your story.

Beauty is Pain! Hi! They should have an alternative to you getting that filling altered to get the bracket to stick. Is it a molar? If it is, maybe they can put a molar band on it instead of fighting to bracket it. Thank you soooooo very much! I am monitoring this last space that needs to close DAILY! Please November, please November, please November!

On another hand, I'm still unemployed which will hopefully change...soon. I flossed last night and realized my bottom teeth are REALLY tight, my Ortho did say she was going to be setting my bottom row at my last visit.

The weirdest thing keeps happening! I keep biting my lower left canine! Ouch! I keep thinking I'm gonna bite a chunk right off that thing! Maybe I won't have this problem when this gap closes. Well that's it for today!

It's been ages since I last spoke with you all!!! Well, June 27th and I've posted the pics below. Something exciting to tell you all, I HAVE A NEW JOB!!! I'm so excited! I work for a Credit Union part-time as a Teller which will give me a little more time to do what I need. You know what I mean? :P Anywho, here are the pics ENJOY!!!

That gap STILL! hasn't closed! I'm getting ansy now...

Upper bite

Lower bite

Something else interesting. I felt like checking the progress of what my lower jaw looked like since getting braces and this is what happened.

Image Image Image

#1 - I don't have that weird curled top lip thing.
#2 - My chin and bottom lip don't scrunch up awkwardly anymore. Instead they flow together. :P
#3 - I don't have two chins when I smile! Which is good because I'm actually a light weight weighing in at a whopping 105 lbs on a good day....

So I am down to one class II rubberband on the right side which seems like it has practically stopped the closing of my remaining gap. :( The good part is I believe it's supposed to shift my jaw so my midline should be a little more on point pretty soon. I also got a new friend called a wire tie (as if you all don't know what it is :P) which is supposed to rotate my lower right canine and I think it's job is complete but we'll see what the Ortho says on my next visit on July 25. Well that's it for this time around! Thank you all for your wonderful comments and well wishes!

I'll see you on the flip-side!

Welcome back, Not-Buckey-Anymore!!

It's so good to see you here again. I'm so happy you were able to find another job. Your teeth look amazing, as usual, but yeah, that gap is a stubborn little bugger, isn't it? So is mine (same gap and side as yours). He told me last month that my gaps should be closed in a couple of months but since he's not actively doing anything to close them, I'm inclined not to believe him.

I've started back with the baking soda again because I have clear chains that look positively disgusting now. :( Every time I sprinkle that crap onto my brush... I think of you.

I wanted to ask you about your bite: do your top teeth overlap your bottom teeth at all when you "bite down"? I notice when I wore my triangle elastics, they did a great job of bringing my upper teeth down; however, they also emphasized my over jet. But when he changes the elastics to Class II configuration, the over jet goes away and pulls my teeth back up. GRRR! Going to ask him about it on Wednesday.

Anyway... WELCOME BACK!

Cathy

Hi HeyBuckey!! Wow, I love your teeth!

One question, why do orthos sometimes use tie wires and other times elastics???

Hey Catgyrl! Thanks! It's great to be back! Ugh! These stupid gaps are irritating me! I feel you on the whole Ortho thing. I guess she'll fix the gaps once my midline is in it's right position. I still have a gap between my upper right canine and 2nd bicuspid. I just want them all to close already! I'm tired of flashing the tin everytime I smile! Oh well. From what they're saying I'll definitely go until February. I wonder however...will they make this move faster if I pay off my balance?

Hi BiP!!! It's so wonderful to hear from you! I know my wire tie is to rotate my lower right bicuspid. They also put an elastic over it just in case my lip decided to get caught in the rotation process. I know they use them for a lot of stuff but I think it depends on what they're trying to accomplish. I saw one story where a girl had wires as her powerchain, she didn't state why though. :( If you ever get them or have to get them they (hopefully) should explain what they plan on doing. I asked my tech what the heck was going on. She was doing this twisting motion that had me confused. Then she told me it was a wire tie and it'll rotate my tooth. :D I smile at progress!

I'm getting more and more ansy people! This debanding date can't come soon enough! Hopefully it will come before February of 2012!

Wish me luck!
