Wow - I'm in Invisalign

#1 Post by bekster45 »

Had my impressions 3 weeks ago. Thought I was going in for the clinichek today and got my trays!! :jump: Will get my clinicheck by email next week. Starting with 28U/28L but my orthodontist has already told me about possible refinements (ok probable), where my attachments will be (starting tray 3), etc.
Got my 1st one's in about 10 hours ago and my mouth is a little sore now, but not bad. Trays are fairly easy to get in and out - I'm sure that will change on tray 3!
Thanks to everybody here - I've been a "lurker" for a couple of months since I started thinking about this process - but all your advice, tips and experiences have helped me be more prepared for my journey.

Wow, Bekster! That was super fast! I had my impressions done around the same time as you and was told that it will be a couple of months before I actually get the trays to start. First they will sort out the clincheck which I will approve, and then they will start making the trays. Perhaps that's why mine will take longer. Anyway, since we will be somewhat close in our treatments times, please stay in touch and keep me up to date on your experiences. I will be not too far behind!

When they did my impressions, my ortho said he was going to push them to get it done in 3 weeks but thought he meant the clinichek. I do want to see that, but since he's an "elite preferred" provider I totally trust his decision over mine. Especially in the beginning phases. Since he actually only comes to my area (he's based out of Denver) every 3-6 weeks, I think he pushed his techs to get them done.
So far about 24 hours in, still fairly comfortable (nothing that ibuprofen hasn't helped). Had to file one spot and one tooth a little sore, but otherwise great.
I had told a good friend I was getting them, but not that I had got them and she didn't notice at all today when I saw her. Although I broke down and told her cuz I couldn't hold it in any longer and she was really surprised..

Once you get the attachments put on at tray 3, they will be more difficult to remove, but after the 1st day, its much easier. I have 13 attachments and its not a problem to get them off if you put them in before bed, you should be able to get them out in the morning. Good Luck with your journey.

I had my attachments put on for my first trays (which I'm still in, I'm a newbie) and getting them in and out isn't at all difficult, though I'm sure it will get harder down the track. I hope you have an easy ride with this too!

I go for tray 3 and attachments on Thursday. I'm doing this in the late morning as he is 2 hours away (he comes to my area every 4-6 weeks, but it was too early to change last week when he was in the area). Hopefully the rest of the day will go ok. Kind of nervous about that since I won't be home to eat, etc. If I remember correctly, attachments are 2 or 3 on lower and 4 on upper, so that's better than some of you guys and gals with them numbering in the teens.

Magdalene - good luck with your "journey" as well. So far it hasn't been too bad and nobody has noticed them. I've told 4 people about them (and they hadn't noticed them but knew I was getting them).
