Dr Robert Relle

#1 Post by peskywabbit »

Anyone have any experience with Dr Robert Relle of Kaiser on Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles? He partners with Dr Schwartz. I have an appt for consult with him next Tuesday for a revision surgery. Would love to hear other's outcomes. I am especially concerned with the aesthetics outcomes.

Thanks to all who reply.

I got no replies on this thread, but that's ok. Saw Dr Robert Relle today. Just want everyone to know that so far he seems like an amazing doctor. Glad to have him as my doc.

I posted to one of your other threads.

I haven't heard about Relle, but Joel Berger was my surgeon and I would recommend him if you're looking for a second opinion.

Thanks Bullfighter. Wish I'd known about Berger earlier. Went through alot of trouble finding a decent surgeon that would take insurance. I'm with Relle now through Kaiser. But it's not written in cement. Does Berger take insurance?

Yes, United Healthcare is my provider and they paid for my BSSO. Not sure about Kaiser, but you could check.

If you're having a chin adjustment only, I would be surprised if insurance would cover it.

Hi peskywabbit, I am having Dr. Relle perform my surgery on August 12, 2011. Did you have your surgery with him yet? How do you like it? Would love to see some pics of you before/after. I've heard great things about Dr. Relle so I think I made a good choice.

To citeeofangels I haven't had my surgery yet, but he seem like a decent guy. I'm beginning to reconsider what type of surgery I might need due to unexpected realisations and understanding of my situation. Anyway, LAJaw had his surgery with Dr Relle, but I'm not sure how he's doing. I asked him about how his surgery went, but as far as I know he never got back to me. You might have better luck. Would be interested in knowing how your surgery went, though. How did you hear about Relle? Do you know of other patients who've had him and what were their results? Thanks so much.

How is it possible that these jaw surgeons don't accept insurance? Are they aware that not everyone earns six figures as they do? That is just ridiculous and makes me so mad! No wonder so many are off to foreign countries for their surgeries.

@thenumber12: Kaiser seems a pretty easy route to get maxilofacial surgery through. They do alot of this type of surgery without (IMO) alot of hiccups. If you're looking for a safe bet, then Kaiser Permanente is the way to go. Where are you located?

hi peskywabbit,

i heard of dr. relle through several sources, some ppl on youtube and through my ortho. i then started researching him and he seems to get lots of rave reviews. i think we're in good hands. i actually did contact LAjaw and he said that he was very happy with the results of the surgery by dr. relle, i also contacted another person on youtube who had dr. relle as an OS and he stressed that he's one of the best OS in socal, his ortho and his friend who had jaw surgery done by relle told him that if he had to wait for dr. relle for surgery that he should patiently wait. i remember he's usually book out at least 4-6 months in advance so i figure he must be that good that he's booked solid. i actually dropped my OS @ kaiser OC to have dr. relle perform my surgery simply because I felt more comfortable with him and saw pics of his patients as well as testimonies from other ppl that made me decide to go with him. LAjaw also told me that dr. relle does everything he in his power to minimize nerve damage as you may have heard that that might happen to some ppl who go thru. jaw surgery. My ortho also had a booklet of ppl who had surgeries performed by him so i was able to see his work, he also has a website as well. did you get to see it? he actually has a private practice in northridge in addition to being a kaiser dr. so i saw his case studies on there as well. here is my blog in case you are interested, i will update as much as i can. i should probably start taking more before pics now, my surgery is in less than 2 weeks! i see him this fri. for my 2nd pre-op and to ask questions and review the final treatment plan. what are you going to dr. relle for? just revision surgery? best of luck!

Oh god, I hope Dr Relle is a provider for my insurance if he's quite well known for quality or I just might have to sign up for Kaiser after all. Plus, he's in my neck of the woods! I have a habit of always looking for doctors in LA since all the good hospitals are located there.

Tell us how it goes peskywabbit.
