Ive been looking at lip protectors/comfort covers for a while and am struggling to find which once would be the best for me??
I have ceraminc braces but have metal brackets on the back few molar teeth.
Here's the info i have so far (please correct me if im wrong):
Dentakits comfort covers - made for metal brackets will be too small for my ceramic brackets
Dentakits brace covers for ceramic braces - would be ideal but ive read on here somewhere that one girl had the set up as me (mental brackets on the back) and she said it didnt fit properly on the back metal brackets???
The lip protector - they apparently clip onto the archwire. Will they fit over ceramic braces?? It says there not suitable to sleep in (the main reason i want them is for at night) or are they just saying this to cover themselves??
Comfort brace - the adhesive strip.... just dont like the idea of these at all. Are they even thick enough to remove the harsh edges??
Morgan lip bumper - a C-shaped channel strip (simmilar to a comfort cover) you can see it at the bottom of this link: Opps cant post URLs any way its a website called orthoshop. co. uk
Comfi-gaurd - Also seen on the above link... is this any different from the others?? will they fit over my ceramics??
What do you thin is the best for me?? Any other suggestions are welcome. Uk dealers (or a company that will ship to the uk) are preferable.
Thankyou for any help.xxx

Re: Recomend me the best
I've tried a bunch of stuff and wished I had saved my money and stayed with the wax as it has been the best thing so far...and cheapest. I just put a tad bit on each bracket which is bothering me at that moment and abracadabra...no more rubbing pain. The advantages to the wax is that it stays put and you can place it anywhere. What is hurting today may not be the case tomorrow so I just put it on wherever it's rubbing the worst. Save your money, get the wax.
My story in this forum:
http://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/viewtop ... =9&t=38942
Braced: 4/7/2011
Metal Upper & Lower
Sentence: 18-24 months
Removal Date: 9/4/13
Re: Recomend me the best
I have used the Morgan lip bumper, to fit over metal brackets. I had to use it as it was the wire that was cutting my mouth rather than the brackets. I didn't buy any though, I was just given some by my orthodontist as my mouth got quite sore. I'm pretty sure it's the Morgan lip bumper which I have, as that's what it looks like. It fits quite well over the metal brackets.

Re: Recomend me the best
I got a pile of boxes of wax from my orthodontist when I first had then put on.... I've used all that up and gabby had any more. It's costing me £3 a time to buy the pots of wax from boots, which is quite alot I think!!!
I've ordered the "jet-tone lip protectors" for £7 so if they work I'll be saving money in the long run.
I hate the wax..... I don't like spending 10/15 minutes before bed softening and arranging it in my mouth! I find it quite unhygienic. And then by morning it's all out of place!
