I have read your blog earlier. 3 failed root canals... WOW.
I myself have had one failed root canal and the other one was ok. However, I was stupid enough to not crown it immediately, so that tooth broke non-restorable. So, I am in need of 2 implants now (or an implant and a bridge which is a bad, but cheaper option, really). But of course I had to have braces first. And so I have another 1.5-2 years to decide LOL
I see you are doing good progress so far. Wires, keep up the good work

P.S. After doing my research, I came to a conclusion that whenever possible, implants should be done vs bridges. We have a lot of life in front of us, and besides being practically identical with your natural teeth, implants preserve facial bone. We are inevitably losing bone as we age, but why speed that process up? So if you can afford it, go for all implants.

Glad to see someone else with a "plan" here and totally know the "I just can't wait" feeling. My plan includes some gum grafting & frenectomy (complete), braces (in progress), jaw surgery (next year), and 2 implants (after the braces come off). I'm one year into an estimated 3 year sentence (which feels very much like jail right now, LOL). I'm so ready for this to all be over and behind me but feel good knowing that I have a plan in place and have completed some of it already.

Just curious, is doing 2 implants an option on your lower left? I have also done research on implants and came to the conclusion that they really are the best long term solution. Teeth that anchor bridges tend to fail over time, leading to more cost and inconvenience down the road. I also read that it's not ideal to have a hanging bridge only attached to an implant because it could cause the implant to flex and possibly fail. Just some food for thought. For what it's worth, I'm also more cautious/paranoid than most people because all the "worst case scenarios" I was warned about have come true in my mouth.

Your teeth are coming along nicely, especially the uppers. May the rest of your treatment proceed as quickly and painlessly as possible!

Another one here with an implant plan! I'm actually trying not to think about the implant too much just yet- the price tag makes me feel queasy! I think for a while post-braces I'll just stick with the essix retainer containing a fake tooth I've been promised from the ortho Hopefully it'll look okay whilst saving up!

Hi There!
I am yet another wanting implants after braces!
I am wanting one, possibly two if I can ever afford it.. I think ill just dream for now (im 17 years old)
As expensive as they are, my dentist said that at my age they are an investment and if I dont get them where some of my bottom teeth are gone, eventually the top ones will come down to try and fill the gap and they might have to go to. GREAT!
I also cant chew on my right hand side because of me missing 2 teeth on the bottom, I chew just on the left side! So irritating!
