Was the surgery itself ok? I hope someone drove you! Good luck with your recovery!
You're telling me!! :| It was just a checkup because I had a deep cleaning done about a month ago. We knew I had deep pockets from the last appointment, but why did they choose to get it done on the 2nd appointment is beyond me. I still have two wisdom teeth that need to be pulled out. It was completely out of the blue for me and I had a decorating class to attend that same night. :-+ Before they put the needles in me, I let them know of this. They went ahead and did the surgery and the one side that was giving me problems when I had the spacers put in is SWOLLEN!!! I went to sleep "early" and I didn't really eat anything so I couldn't take my meds. Needless to say, I was in pain the entire night and barely got any sleep. I'm a fast healer so hopefully this will all be old news by next week. I have a follow up appointment on Tuesday afternoon. Luckily my fiance makes his own hours and was able to drive me back home. He's been keeping an eye on me since I'm a bit stubborn and hate to "rest" for long periods of time, even when it's in my best interest. :yuck:

Day 20
I continue to be in excruciating pain. :-= :FeelSick: My gums are bleeding and I'm barely able to enjoy ANY food. The same food I need to have in my system before I can take any meds. Ugh. This sucks. :-+

"Hi Ortho, I'd like you to remove all my teeth. That's right. Just give me some implants!"

On a bright note, the Act-1 mouthwash feels better, unlike the Listerine that felt like I had gasoline in my mouth.

Oy! Oy! Oy! :-Z

Day 21
BLACKJACK!!

FYI: Campbells French Onion sucks!! :yuck:

Ok I've been popping pills like Skittles and one of my stitches is coming apart. Ugh something always happens on Friday!! I'm not liking this liquid diet one bit!! :FeelSick: One side of my mouth is killing me, while the the other is sound asleep. :soremouth: I love yogurt, but not this much. Well I'm off to eat, what that is a good question.

Day 22
I was asleep for most of the day after the Vicodin knocked me out. :-Z

Day 23
I'm better today, but more stitches are coming apart and brushing is  . I really don't like how dizzy and discombobulated I get with these medications. Tomorrow I'll get to hang out with a friend who hasn't seen me since grade school. Oh boy! Hopefully I don't hurl chunks on her. My stomach has not felt well and I've been hanging out with soups, yogurt and juice. :yuck: But I feel I need to get out of the house as laying in bed is as fun as an ulcer. :FeelSick: Tuesday can not come soon enough!! :soremouth:

Day 24
Kachow!! I'm pretty much all healed up! :jump: I'm going in for a check up tomorrow in the afternoon so hopefully I get some good news. The side effect: The meds have really done a number on my stomach. :FeelSick: Other than that I'm feeling fine. I'll post pictures in a couple of days, I want to know if you notice any movement from Day 1. Anyways, I'm off to bake a cake for tomorrows class.

I'm glad you're feeling better! And I'm completely jealous of your baking/decorating classes. If I had the time or the money now to do something like that I totally would, because I love baking!

Aww. Thankies, I actually went in today and they told me I healed really fast. The rest of the stitches were taken out and no surprise surgeries!!! I wish I would have researched the classes a bit more because of course they don't tell you that you need beaucoup bucks for the all of the equipment. I'm just making do with the little that I have and making it work somehow. As much as I love to bake, I usually don't eat my creations. Especially now with the metal, I try to avoid sugar like that bubonic plague.

^^^^^
Day 25

Stitches are out and no surprise surgeries. :-V I ate what I wanted to and dagnamit I enjoyed it. Now I can go back to recording vocals on some songs that have been sitting at my desk since I had these darn things put in my mouth. Woot. I'm going to bed now. I'll be glad when I can kiss the antibiotics goodbye. Oh and meeting up with my grade school friend was awesome. She thought I looked cute in braces. Ha. Anyways, hope everybody else is doing well.

Day 26
I'm all smiles today. Despite having some sensitive teef, I'm not in pain and was able to enjoy my day. :GapToothed: It was triple digit weather here in SoCal and I spent most of my day trying to figure school out  . I feel the braces are like a part of me now. Sounds weird, because they were a part of me from the day they went on. I can't wait to get the bottom row done. I can't believe it's been almost a month since I had the tops put on. I'm excited, happy and feeling MUCHbetter than I did last week.  Now I need to find volunteers to eat the rest of this chocolate cake I baked for class. :-} Hope your day was a good as mine.

Day 27
My teeth are really bipolar!! :biglaf: All day I had spurts of numbness, pain, crackling, sensitivity and no symptoms. Overall a good day. I had turkey wrap, a lot of veggies and fruit and plenty-o-water to cool off. I'm getting ready to throw the rest of this chocolate cake as I've had two slices too many. My tummy hoits! :FeelSick: Anyways, my teeth are acting up again. Time for bed!! :-Z

Day 29
:jump: Today was a good day. Seriously. My teeth tired themselves out! :biglaf: Well it's about time!! I was finally able to relax and enjoy a day with my fiance without moaning like a cat in heat. My fiance jokingly mentioned that I'm losing my "Simpson" face along with my lips. What he meant was that my front teeth are looking good! I feel such a HUGEdifference. I really need to just post pictures so that you can see that I'm not making this up!! My one month braceversary is coming up!! Woot!! Anyways, I'm off to watch some TV and then hit the hay. BzzzzzzZzzzz...busy bee.

Day 30 and 31 "The Weekend"
It was simply beautiful and my teeth held up nicely with triple digit heat. :biglaf: I spent most of my day drinking water and eating soup. Yeah not a good combination. :FeelSick:

Day 32 and the beginning of month # 2
Woohooooohooo!! I survived a month in metal! :rawk: And as promised, I'm posting pictures. Please let me know what you think. I feel a big difference in the front two teeth, but maybe I'm imagining things. What say you?!

Things are looking good! Today is my one month braceversary, and I can only see VERY small changes...itty-bitty little gaps between a couple of teeth.

I'd be glad to take some chocolate cake off your hands, though! Right now, I'm roasting some bananas to make banana pudding...soft food even my hubby will want to eat!

You mentioned not being able to drink Pelligrino...I drink soda water like it's going out of style, and my ortho never said anything about this being contraindicated...any info I should know about?

:jump: HAPPY BRACE-AVERSARY!! :-V

I guess I just assumed that meant Pellegrino also because of the bubbly, but I guess the ortho is more concerned with the sugar in soda. :-** That makes my heart sing!! Banana pudding from scratch? Oh dear! Would you care to share the recipe? :pinkbraces:

Day 33
No pain, no gain? They are on the move again. It was weird sitting in class wondering if anybody else could here the construction workers in my mouth! :biglaf: My gums feel great
and my only complaint today is that I don't have my lower braces on. I'm sure I'll change my mind again soon!! I'm meeting up with another friend soon before the madness of school and work begin. Today was a very good day. Off to bed I go! Weeeeeeeeeeee!

:-1 Toodles!!

I enjoy reading your posts because you are very animated and have a fun, clever way of expressing what is happening with your teeth. Keep it up and good luck with your progress!

Oh thankies!! :rose:
Day 34
I felt like eating chicken tonight, chicken tonight. And so I did. :biglaf: I felt a little numbness, but nothing that kept me from eating pizza, chewing on salad or munching on a cupcake. I'm drinking beaucoup H20 and keeping hydrated. My goodness this heatwave is killer, but I'm glad I'm not eating soup!! :-* My teeth today look awesome possum, ahem let me translate. They look straighter up top and the curve is slowly disappearing. I'm cheesing like a Kraft single. I'm also thinking of tossing my old Rotadent or at least putting it away (perhaps use it for travel?). Sonicare and Waterpik are the DYNAMIC DUO!! If I haven't said it before, I also lost 10 lbs. and counting. I think it has to do with me not eating at all odd hours of the night , and once I brush my teeth at night, I'm less likely to go to the fridge and graze. Moo. I start school this Monday and I'm just excited. Many of my classmates haven't seen me over the summer so it will be nice to see their reaction. :pinkbraces: Now if I could only organize my studio and get some songs out!!! :jump: Anyways, I'm off to bed. Hope everyone had a good one!!

Cup-O'-Toodles!! :-1
