Hi, a number of years ago I had braces. Despite wearing my retainer every night, a tad bit of relapse has occurred.
These past few days I've been considering getting invisalign maybe the express version if I can get it for cheap enough, maybe £2000 or less. I've also upload some of my before and after images. The area of slight relapse is the upper left lateral incisor (as you look at the photo), its moved back behind the incisor. Also am not entirely happy with the right upper lateral it kind of flairs out a bit. I dont know if its me but my teeth dont seem to look as nice as the day the braces came off, possibly because they have stained due to too main hot drinks, lol.
Do you think mine is a moderate case for invisalign?
I don't know if your case would require invisalign...it doesn't seem to me that you need anything more than a retainer of some sort. I am not an expert so my opinion can be completely useless.
I did notice that your midlines are off, were they off when your braces were removed? As for the flaring, if it is just an appearance issue, and there is nothing wrong with function, can the tooth be shaped to reduce the flare?
I think they look great and I am not sure I would do anything if they were my teeth but they aren't, so whatever you need to do to make yourself happy, you should do it.
As the other poster said, if it were me, I wouldn't go thru the hassle and expense. I do see what you are talking about but only b/c you pointed it out. Honestly, if you hadn't pointed out that very minor flaw I'd think your teeth were perfect.
Based on my own experience, I'm not sure retainers hold teeth 100% in the position they are in when braces are removed. I do think they hold about 98%. Meaning, teeth are going to settle over time and shift a bit, but overall, retainers will keep the bulk of things where they should be.
One can go crazy trying to maintain perfection. I'd say be happy as you are, but it is your mouth and your money, so if it will make you a happier person to get Invisalign; do so!
