Need advice, interested in Ibraces (PICS included)
I was told by my dentist that I have a rotated canine on my top teeth, some jaw misalignment (or discrepency) or something along those lines (???), and minor crowding (with the exception of one tooth on my right side that is very much so misaligned, jutting inwards) on the bottom.
Do you think I'm a good candidate for Ibraces, and am I complicated case that may take two years to fix?
Also...will I most likely pay the $8000 and upwards?
It is my understanding with ibraces that most cases that can be fixed using traditional braces (on front of teeth), can be done with ibraces as well. The problem can be finding an ortho that is skilled in working with ibraces. They are more expensive due to the fact that they are custom made to the individual, and they are more difficult and time consuming for the ortho. The cost for mine in FL is around 7500. I was happy to find out that even though my dental insurance does not cover adult orthodontia, I was able to get a 25% discount with it. So my out of pocket if closer to $5000. If you have dental insurance that doesn't cover orthodontia, it is worth asking if they offer a discount. I will be getting my ibraces on in a few weeks for crowding, and some misalignment. If you go to the ibraces website www.hiddenbraces.com, you can search for an ortho in your area that does them. I lucked out that the ortho my dentist refered me to (I originally went for an invisalign consult, but wasn't a candidate) does them, but when I researched I found he was the only one anywhere near the area who does. If you find one in your area, go for a consult (mine was free, including x-rays), and see what they have to say. I'll have to wear mine for 20-24 months. Every case is different though. Good luck!
Wow $5000 (even $7500) for U/L Lingual braces is a steal

It is kind of hard to tell from that pic whether or not you are a good canditate.
It would really be best to find a doc who does lingual and get a consultation.

Agreed with drrick. For such an investment, you need to visit an orthodontist to get all of the information. This photo is not diagnostic alone. Various views and x-rays are required to determine the best course of treatment. In particular, it is difficult to determine the angulation of the canines, and see how your teeth occlude.
Lingual fees in the Greater Toronto Area generally vary from $9k-15k in orthodontic offices. Hope this helps!
