Age 42 was round two. Round one was middle/junior high school. After the braces came off I had retainers I was supposed to wear all day for a period of time. Although seventh grade is painful enough without having disgusting retainers to deal with in the cafeteria, I stuck with it (more or less) and graduated to just nights. That lasted until college at which time the retainers fell by the wayside altogether. My thinking (such as it was) was that by this time my teeth should be locked in position and I shouldn't need the retainers anymore. I was not factoring in the power of the tongue thrust..... so now, here I go again, round two! :)

26. I should have got braces when I was 16 but I just didn't care enough about my teeth to go through with it. Now I'm regretting waiting so long but glad I didn't wait any longer.

40 for the uppers... it'll be 41 for the lowers. :tingrin:

Braces as Phase II treatment for TMJD.
Lower mandibular repositioning splint 26 months.
Lower braces on 10.75 months into Phase II treatment.
Duration in braces: 2 years, 2 weeks, 5 days
Removal of Braces: September 18, 2013
TMJD treatment now complete!

I am 26 and just got braces this past Monday...upper and lower metal. I am still getting use to the soreness and pressure. My time of treatment is 14-18 months.

This is the second time with braces. I was 13 the first time and now I'm 38.

I'll be 18. :P
Most of my friends are all done with braces and here I am just starting out for the first time.

30 some odd months of being a metal and surgery mouth coming up.

Just got them at the ripe ole age of 25. I always have been very shy and ashamed of my teeth and finally was financially able to get much needed orthodontic work.

I'm 23 and just got mine on a month ago. I will get them off a few months after I turn 24. (Going to have them for 9 to 10 months).

Wow! So surprised to see my age group in the lead! Into my 5th month now and I am 28 yrs old. First time in braces for my Severe crowding and overbite. Next ortho visit is in 2 months and I only have 6 months after that YAY! I love my clear 3M Smartclip braces! They're sooo comfortable and FAST!
