teeth moving??

#1 Post by workingmomma »

Hi Ya'll

I was sitting at home tonight, when I started to hear this popping/clicking noise coming from my teeth. I went to the mirror and I think my teeth have started to move just a little. I have always had a buck in my two front teeth, and It seems like it's not there as much. Is it too early for my teeth to start moving? I just got braces on 01/09/12, So I thought it would take longer before my teeth started to straighten out.. Thoughts?

I'm already counting down the days until I get these off.

It may seem crazy, but teeth move quite fast in the beginning! It may be starting already, exciting!

I believe that your teeth have already started moving...again...it doesn't take much force to move teeth. I know that in my first week I saw lots of movement.

Teeth are fairly easy to move IF you have some open space sitting next to it. Do you have some spacing (even a tiny bit) around your front teeth? If so, I would believe that teeth may already be shifting there.

It sounds crazy, but I have also noticed sort of a cracking noise coming out of my mouth every now and then. Like the brackets trying to move along the wire. I though it was totally crazy to assume that teeth movement created that noise, but maybe it was?
Had full mouth metal braces for 21 months. Debonded April 2013. Now wearing clear plastic retainers every other night.

I have no formal dental or orthodontic education. Hence, all opinions expressed by me on this forum are those of an "informed consumer" and by no means intended as an expert advice.

I've been in for three weeks, and I can definitely feel the movement. As a pre double-jaw surgery patient, the pre-surgery ortho is designed to completely mess up my bite, so it's really obvious. My teeth now meet at the canines and pre-molars, and my molars no longer meet at all without some jaw shifting. Front teeth meeting? Fuggitaboutit!
