Surgery Numbness?

#1 Post by Amethyst »

I had SARPE surgery on December 13, 2011. Practically all of the numbness in my face and lips has disappeared, however half (yes, half) of my lip is still somewhat numb, the right side. I'm not really concerned with it, but I wanted to know if anyone has an idea of how long numbness usually lasts, or the longest it can last. Thank you. :D

Hi, I had surgery 27th September 2011 to bring my bottom jaw brought forward. The feeling in the right side of my face came back pretty quick. On the left hands side side the feeling is coming back on my chin and on the outside edge of my bottom lip, but on the top of my lip no feeling as yet - I'm sure it's improving all the time though.

I had surgery November 2010. Half of my lip still has some numbness. It is something that has improved somewhat over time, but it is still there. I hardly notice it. I do feel it will be completely be gone one day. From what I'm told nerves heal VERY SLOWLY.

I had Sarpe surgery on 12-27-11 its been almost 2 months and i still cannot feel my upper gum or my teeth, i'm still pretty swollen, especially on my right side . I've read alot of posts and its seems like i'm not a typical case . Most folks are doing alot better. I'm 49 years old and maybe that has something to do with the numbness/swelling. Not to happy with my recovery thought i would have been feeling and looking better by now. Curious to read other posts of folks healing .
