Short Face

#1 Post by Hope »

Has anyone had surgery and gone from a very long face to a very very short face?
I wouldnt be interested in a modest shortening
It would have to make a huge difference as in a very short compact round face

I'm not sure, but i have heard that certain people have had as much as 8mm of length removed with a Le Fort I osteotomy.

However, it depends on what type of long face you're talking about. If your length is in the area next to your nose, rather than down towards the gums, there is no surgical correction available. In that case, you may want to consider jaw angle implants/cheek implants or a combination of both to add width to your face.

If it's in the gums, the Le Fort can be used to remove some of the gum, and compact your face.

Thank you for your reply
8mm is ok
The area that is long is from base of nose down so it must be my gums are overgrown
