I have ceramic brackets on top and metal on the bottom. As of today I have to wear a rubber band from my upper canine to my lower teeth and when I went to change it, I couldn't remember if the elastic should just go over the hook on the upper bracket or should it also go around the bracket?
I tried it both ways and there is definitely a difference in how each way feels as far as the tension it creates so I'm assuming it does make a difference. I'm tending to think it should just go over the hook.
It goes over the hook. I have the same configuration, but since my bottom molar doesn't have a real "hook" on it, I wrap the elastic around that bracket.
