sunnylocks wrote:Looking good! I got my elastics about 8 months in, and I'm at 10 right now. My last adjustment was quite painful and then to wear the elastics...I felt like there were pounds of pressure on my face, but it's getting better now. I think I have a couple months left...at least I'm hoping. Keep us updated!
Gosh I can only imagine! Until i get them myself that is. I dont even know if my treatment plan includes elastics, i just assumed that everyone in braces had to have them?

I'm anxious and upset about my teeth too...but seriously we're the only ones that even notice. Everyone is in their own little world.
Thankyou <3 I would be pleased if the braces came off now to be honest, but i have been dreaming of having straight beautiful teeth ever since i was little! It certainly is paying off. Hahaha yeah if you think about it, nobody even really cares, they have more important things to worry about!
My next appt is on feb 28th where he is changing the lower archwire to a thicker one so i will keep you all updated!
Sorry i havent been updating this everyone, VCE is so hectic!!
not much has changed, teeth are getting straighter but not very noticeably.
cant believe it has been over 13 months already!!!
my next ortho appt is late april i think where it is just another wire change
so yeah i think thats all from me for now!!
Wow, I've really been slack posting on here. Time flies so fast!
Had another wire change the other day. Apparently I'm on/close to my finishing wires and next appt (in early August) I may be getting elastics which is exciting and daunting!
My teeth are almost straight and he said the next wire I get will close the gap on my upper right hand side - or maybe that's the elastics?
Hi Everyone,
I know the following images are teeeeeeeeensy tiny but I thought they would show at least some insight on how to my teeth look these days compared to 16months ago!
I have no regret in getting braces and could not be happier with how my teeth are looking!
Hopefully these badboys are nearly gone though because as stated by my ortho, I should be getting elastics/rubberbands next visit! They estimated 18-24 months. I have no idea what that estimate is at now I will ask next time I am there.
So yesterday I had my ortho appt and I got class II elastics and a power chain that goes across all of my top teeth. The elastics are hurting pretty bad like he said that they would and I have to wear them all the time except for when eating and brushing.
He also told me I'm on track and have about 6 months left which I kindof expected which sucks because I was hoping to get them off sooner haha.
Next appt is September 11!
The clear white disgusting stuff is normal. It's just like saliva but it get's caught up in your braces and dries a bit while you're sleeping. I got it heapssss when I first got my braces, I'd wake up first thing and shove a tissue in my mouth.
- Age; 17
- Speed braces. Metal uppers and lowers.
- Getting treatment in Perth, WA

I dont know if anyone asked but in the first page it shows you dont have the 2 lower molars on one side. How did they brace the bottom? Did you get a TAD? If so, was it included in the price? Dont really have time to read the whole thing lol sorry
oimysizex wrote:Been reading through your story! Wow how nice do your teeth look! I bet your excited to have them off!!
Thankyou <3 yes I can't wait to have them off! I'm trying to wear my elastics as much as possible in hope of getting them off sooner!

Hi, they braced them as normal. No TAD
I dont get that, how is that possible? You need the molar to act as an ackor for the rest of the teeth.
Hey, I love your thread. I have similar issues with my teeth and find your progress very inspiring especially the changes made in the first few months. Your teeth looked perfect from like a year into having the braces. How come you need to keep them on so long? Can't wait to see your final pics!

I honestly don't know. I thought there would have been too much pressure on the molar but apparently not.
