Hello guys,
After reading all your posts it encouraged me to have mine, Mine have been on for 3 days. And my teeth are really really tender!!
Buy no pain no gain hey!

I have a really heavy lisp at the moment which is quite embaressing! and i have a trout pout ! :S
Anyway i read some comments about the inman aligner not being able to rotate teeth, i hope this isnt the case as i need to rotate the two teeth that have overlapped my two front teeth.

I have appointments every 2 weeks now until the treatment has finished. My dentist thinks it will take between 10 to 12 weeks.

Ill be sure to keep you all updated on my progress!

I guess all our experiences will be different to a certain extent.
My pain only lasted 3-4 days.
After 4 weeks I have to say my speech has improved slightly but I still avoid answering the phone at work but it can't always be avoided.
I have to say I do remove my aligners for the hour I have to relieve the receptionist while she goes to lunch.
If I speak to someone for the first time I usually try briefly explaining to them first so they will listen harder to what I am saying. So far everyone has been really understanding.
So all in all I still think the speech difficulty is outweighed by the sheer speed that the IA works.
So to you Dan, I would say go for it but probably a good idea if you do have them fitted at the start of your 2 weeks off. Make sure you talk lots & lots in those 2 weeks even if you have to talk to yourself.
Instead of reading silently, for the first couple of weeks I would read out loud, whether it be reading something on the computer or a text msg. I would sing out loud in the car.
Good luck & keep us posted :)

I host my pictures on another site. Image shack is a good one, just type it in to Google. You can use the media upload button to upload pictures then use the forum link it gives you in the information of the pictures and copy and paste that in to a message here.

Well, I've passed the 2 week mark. No estimate for total treatment time which seems like a pretty bad sign. I don't need pain killers anymore although the filing is pretty sore once you've had these in for a bit. My dentist seems to think that my top teeth are moving faster than the bottom ones, and my partner said that my top teeth look 'more comfortable' in my mouth now. I personally see a lot of change in the bottom ones too, although they're seen an awful lot less than the top ones.

I see my dentist every two weeks now apparently. I've developed a small black triangle inbetween my front two teeth, which I'm hoping will become a full gap (as I've not had any gap at all Inbetween them in years, and I naturally have one!). I can't wait to have straight teeth!

What great progress Ozzy!

So, I've lost 7 pounds since the start of my treatment. Does anybody else think that these things are the best diet ever?

I've begun to get comments specifically about how my top two front teeth are looking much much straighter. My boyfriend even noticed the slight gap inbetween them now. He keeps staring at them and saying they're going surprisingly quickly, it's really rather funny.

I'll have had my Inman Aligners on for a full month in 2 days time. It's gone so quickly! There's definitely a noticeable difference in my teeth, but I think they've still got a fair way to go yet.

I got my IA fitted last week having decided to go ahead after reading lots of comments on here about everyone's experiences - this is a fantastic discussion!

Was quite surprised how quick it took them to make it after getting my moulds done (just 2 weeks) and I have now been wearing it 5 days. It got very painful after the first few hours of wearing to the point where it felt like my teeth could snap off. It didn't help that I had read a post earlier on here about somebody whose tooth & nerve had been damaged and gone grey, so I was really worried that is might be damaging my teeth, anyway the pain has now gone (except when putting it in/ taking out for about 5 mins).

I have one upper front tooth slightly in front of the other and the next tooth along is further back so I want them nicely lined up. I know my front tooth has begun to move back already, its not visible but I can tell by the fact that now when I bite my jaw together without the IA, the tips of my lower teeth now touch on the back of my top teeth as I have an overbite. Its not a massive problem at the moment but I am a little concerned that as my top teeth move further back it could end up with me being unable to chew anything due to the top and bottom clashing! Has anyone else had this problem? I'm seeing my dentist on Sat so will see what she says...

Hi All,

I had another visit with the dentist today. There is one tooth that has been a little stubborn (on the side I didnt post a pic of) but he seems to think that my aligning will be complete by my next visit in 2 weeks! That will be a total of only 8 weeks if he is correct :D

However he did inform me of what is to come on my next visit & I feel quite ill when I think about it............he plans to trim my gum :yikes:  :yuck: :FeelSick:
The reason for this is that my most protruding tooth sits higher in the gum than the rest, he was hoping that as the tooth moved back the gum would come down, lining them up better but this hasnt happened so he intends to trim the gum on the remaining teeth to make them look more symmetrical.

At the same visit I am going to have the mould taken for my permanent bonded retainer.

I then have to wait a month to let the gum heal before having my broken tooth crowned. Then my treatment should be complete

I intend to wait a month or 2 but am considering going back to have my bottom teeth straightened :D

Again, goodluck to All :)

Ok I'm almost ready to go but having serious concerns about the price. Been quoted 2100 almost for just my top teeth, this does include whitening and the bonded retainer. I know prices fluctuate nationally and circumstances differ but this is a sesame ton more than I've seen anyone else mention on here.

Could a few more people please comment on this issue please I know not everyone wants to comment on money etc but if it's more than 20% over the average I think I'll be having words with my dentist

Hi Danonone

I completely understand your concerns on the price. When I first considered doing something about my teeth I had a consultation and was quoted something like £5k+ for invisalign or £2100 for the Inman. I felt that the dentist was trying to sway me toward Invisalign, not really giving me that much info about the other options and didnt actually do a proper examination of my mouth. I decided this was too expensive so found somewhere else that is doing the Inman for £1600 including whitening and clear retainer. When I had my consultation at this second place it was soo much better. Granted, the waiting room is not quite as swish but at least the dentist actually looked inside my mouth before taking my money!

If I were you I'd look at other local dentists or at the least ask why it is costing more than average. My understanding is that Inman basically charge a set amount and the dentists add X on for the checkups etc. So they might drop the price a little if you ask, but if not at least u tried! And I'm sure you won't regret it if you do decide to go ahead.

I paid £750 for each aligner. I don't have to pay for my appointments in relation to the aligners. I don't know yet if I'll be charged any extra for my retainers. I buy cheap home whitening kits for about £5 off of the internet.
