Mostly kidding, but I now have braces...sigh About a two year sentence. Self-ligating ceramic brackets on top, with the exception one tooth because it was turned too much to fit the wire into the door. Small regular metal brackets on the bottom.

Wow, I had a bracket pop off already and I've only brushed to try and get the glue taste out of my mouth. I hope this isn't foretelling of my treatment.
Oh no! It's a glitch and hopefully will be the only bracket you will lose. You're teeth look pretty good to me anyway!! Of course others said the same about mine but we notice and know the little flaws and that's who counts! I went for my first adjustment this morning so I am waiting for the soreness to kick in. I was told I had fantastic oral hygeine. I felt like saying, "Duh, I'm 42 of course I do!"
A second bracket popped off while I was getting the one I mentioned earlier repaired. Both seem to be fixed.
Moving on to Day 2- OWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
I thought I knew what pain was, being hit by car on my bike is nothing to this. The teeth aches I can handle, but the hallucination inducing migraines are something else. I took about 1000mg of ibuprofen throughout yesterday with a few hydrocodone mixed in. I havn't eaten in 30 hours because I wanted to avoid cleaning and rewaxing, but I need to force myself to at this point.
I'm getting braces tomorrow and I'm nervous about the pain! Hope yours eases up!
My plan was to have the ceramic on top and metal on bottom like you, but since the metal are smaller and cheaper, I'm rethinking my decision...
How do they feel? Do the larger ceramics bother you more than the metal?
They felt a lot better as the day went on. What I described really only lasted for about 18 hours. The ceramics do feel a bit more abrasive than my bottom ones, but if you're really self sensitive like I am when people are looking at you, definitely go with self ligating ceramic on top. My boss didn't notice for four hours, and he only did because I was a couple feet away and laughing pretty hard.

Thanks for answering! Glad the pain didn't last very long!
I also forgot to mention that my ceramics were +750$ to my total. It seems a lot less common for guys to have braces at this age, and I get embarrassed easily. I probably would have went up to 1000$ for ceramics, anything more than that I would have just went full metal.
