New braceface! Spacers, Brackets, Wires!

#1 Post by nicolegee »

Hey guys :) Im new here as I just got my braces July 19th, it's such a wonderful oppurtunity to be apart of this website and communicate with fellow bracefaces
My story is I have an overbite, overcrowding, and my two front teeth are slightly portruded from the rest of my teeth, on my bottom teeth, one tooth is more back then the rest, so, I definately needed a change. :) I will post pictures if I see that people are interested in my journey. :D

Anyway, I got 8 spacers! 4 on the top molars, and 4 on bottom, I'm not sure what these are for? Any ideas? They also put the actual braces, but they didn't put the brackets or wires on teeth with spacers!! As far as extractions, they said they will wait 5 months too see how my teeth progress and I sure do hope extractions wont be necessary....

4 days into all this and my two front teeth have already pushed back a bit, which is exciting for me! :jump:

Please feel free to stay updated with my journey as I will do the same!! I am so excited to see my teeth in 3 months! Horray for my new beginning :D

Hi Nicole,

Whoo Hoo, we go our braces on the same day. On July 19th is when I got my top arched wired and banded. We have a similar story because you may not be able to tell it in the pics, but my two front top teeth stick out a bit. I also have an overbite and some crowding at the bottom which is one reason I am having my 1st bicuspids extracted! I am glad you have joined and I look forward to following you on your journey. I started out with 8 spacers just like you, but now only have four since they took the ones off top!

I feel bad not introducing myself. My name is Nicole! I am 16 and for a long time I have been very insecure about my teeth! It held me back from doing alot of things and I was starting to become more and more anti-social  Which is SO NOT ME!!!!.. I needed to do something about it and that is why I got braces. Already, I feel alot better about myself and alot has let off my subsconcious! I feel refreshed and happy to know my teeth are actually in PROGRESS right now, and by the time I'm 18...woo! Straight teeth. :) My ortho said I'm looking at about 2 to 2 and a half years with braces...hopefully sooner as I am going to follow all the rules because I am very caring about my teeth, and always have been, braces or no braces! So yes, I live in California! So Cal! I am very excited to start my journey and share my experience and join experiences. :-*

Let's get this party started. Ha :jump:

No way! Thats awesome :D How long are you going to have yours on? o:
Im drinking a strawberry banana smoothie right now from burger king!....ahhh I definately recommend! Yummy and feels great lol..
Extractions worry me :? But hey, we have to do what we have to do!! I can't wait to get these spacers off, such a drag! What really pulls my strings is I didn't eat anything good the day I got my braces! I was soooooooooooooooooooo mad, My fault :-+ .. haha...it sucks because I'm trying to gain weight, and I'm on such a strict diet now >.< Has you're eating improved?

My sentence is 24-30 months but Im hoping it will be more toward 24!! I really have just been eating soft foods but when I get off work in the morning we have a forum and I know it will not be anything soft so I'll see how that goes.

I upload my pics on the website recommended by the adminstrator called imageshack. http://www.imageshack.com Once you up load them on there they will give you a code for forum and you just copy and paste the code to your post when you are done uploading. On there you just need an e-mail address to sign up. Also, you can choose before uploading your pic the size you want it and I think I always choose the one that says message boards/websites. Before you post it here you can always test it in the TESTING 123 thread on here. I hope this helps!!
