lost a tooth
At the age of 50 I got my braces off. 4 years later I lost my lower left front tooth due to an accident 37 years ago and subsequent root canal 20 some years ago. Then 2 years ago It was loosened and it never firmed up. This past Sunday it finally came out. Now I have that unsightly gap. I was wondering if this gap could be closed with another round of braces, instead of a partial plate.

Shouldn't you get an implant asap before it undoes all the work you did, or at least something to keep other teeth from going into that space?

It can be closed with brcaes, however, wouldn't it be easier and cheaper and faster to just do an implant?
Had full mouth metal braces for 21 months. Debonded April 2013. Now wearing clear plastic retainers every other night.

Re: lost a tooth
My adult niece has braces and the only reason for them is to align them for her implant. (She lost a tooth as a result of a biking accident). She has been in braces for over a year.
So, I would go to the dentist asap to get an opinion on an implant and the need for braces--or later on that could be your only option. (Besides a plate--which will be a hassle forever--my niece tried that too..)
Sorry to hear about your loss! Good luck!
