Anyone get headaches after wire change?
I had my wires changed yesterday, woke up today with the worst headache I've ever had in my life. My teeth are still sore, and I can't chew anything. I just clued in that maybe the two are related?? Does anyone get bad headaches after getting their wires changed? If not, maybe I'm dying. Ok I'm hopefully not, but man everything hurts. I never get headaches, and this was a doozie!

I do! Day of wire change, face aches and headaches. Day after headaches and toothaches. Tis fun isn't it?

Re: Anyone get headaches after wire change?
I do too.
From the instant the wire goes on while I'm in the chair. So for the day of my adjustment I have a headache and my whole mouth/jaw hurts so literally my face is in pain! Urgh.
The day after tho, I kia hav the mouth/jaw pain to deal with........
I also get bad headache with prob my first 2 powerchains. Because I had huge gaps in my front 4 upper teeth.....but not anymore
So the good news is......I don't think ur dying.
The bad news is there'll be more wire changes in the future
More good news: you'll get more and morre used to it. Until it won't be as painful or bothersome
Chao for now
Hope u feel better

I even got a nose ache too when I got my wire changed. Didn't even know that was something that could happen! Does anyone else sometimes google pictures of nice teeth to remind them all the pain is worth it?

16 months 1 week and 2 days in braces
12mm overjet and narrow jaws all fixed with braces and elastics.

Re: Anyone get headaches after wire change?
Not only headaches but I noticed my sinuses are draining more than usual and I am constantly clearing my throat. Is that normal? Seems like since I've gotten my braces all types of weird stuff is happening.
Re: Anyone get headaches after wire change?
Yes! Headache, teeth ache, even the roof of my mouth aches.. But I have to try to stay positive through it all and tell myself it's temporary and it'll be worth it in the end.
Re: Anyone get headaches after wire change?
Does this intense pain happen even if you load up with anti-inflammatories (Advil/Motrin or Aleve)? I just got braced last week and have yet to get a wire change. I was planning on taking a preventative dose before the wire change appointment and keeping a steady dose going for a day or two ... please don't tell me this doesn't make a difference!
As far as the sinus stuff goes, I'm not surprised to hear this. I am prone to migraines (that also feel sinus-y) ... I think there's a lot of interconnected stuff happening with jaws, gum swelling, etc. ... maybe it works its way up? Just an uneducated guess!
