Upper linguals & conventional lowers

Hi,

Its been 2 years 3 months since I had my braces on. My upper are linguals and the lowers are normal conventional damon brackets. The bottom ones looks almost done so recently I asked my ortho whether its possible to take out the lowers first but he said no, both needed to be on till the end.

Just would like to know whether anyone else has had the same experience and have either their lowers and uppers taken off first.

You might need elastics at the end to get your bite to line up which would need to attach to both upper and lower.
