Thats what I'm thinking too. My husband made me laugh, he said whatever they do my teeth are going to look awesome before its all said and done and he told me to quit worrying about them. So I'm gonna do just that. How are you feeling Noni?? I know you were wanting to get rid of your braces as soon as you could, did the new ortho give you an estimate?

I had an estimation of 6 - 9 months to fix every thing , and my ortho said that whenever we fixed the molars and the bite , and that I feel I want to remove them we can do this if I don't want to continue which probably will take 6 months .

So here is what is left for my treatment and my priority is to fix the right second molar to have an implant replacing the missing first molar , and then to push the left second molar inwards , other than this I will need elastics for the midline and closing the gaps between upper and lower jaw .

How is your molar doing , did it move fast ? I wonder how long my molars wil take .

My molar moved some and then stopped. Because we didn't really do anything with my lowers this last adjustment because of the issue with my uppers and lowers hitting its still just kinda hanging out. Its about half way to where it needs to be. I haven't decided if my last molar needs to move in or my second to last needs to move out. I will talk a picture later and show you what I mean. Its hard to find information on how long anything "orthodontic" takes to fix, it seems like every case is different so hopefully your molars will be cooperative and get in line


I'm not sure how long we will be pushing out my uppers, but I'm pretty sure this time wasn't in my original estimate so I think this impingment of my lowers has extended my initial estimate, but thats ok I guess. I don't really hate my braces, and so long as they aren't eating my lips and cheeks I can live with them.

I will be waiting for a picture , I tried to search online for similar case but nothing found yet .
I checked your prebraces photos your lower molar are not too outwards they are almost aligned , mine are very obvious.

My molars are very achy now , but I know they won't move this fast not even within a month , my previous ortho said that molars would need 4 months to move in my case , but second ortho looks more optimistic , or at least that what I feel .

I'm happy that you don't hate your braces , I hate mine , it could be that it really changed my face , made my lips Buffy and they look huge in my face , I just don't feel comfortable with them , and was planning to switch to lingual , but my new ortho said that the treatment will be longer , anyway I guess I will survive for the coming months like how I did in the past 6 months .

The molar was actually pushed out of place when they had that baby took loose. It pulled things out of alignment, now we have to get them back to where they were before. I dont' know if I have a good picture of before this last wire went on because I have fat cheeks and they cover my molars in most of my pics...
I hope they are able to get your molars wrangled soon so you can get out of your braces. in the mean time keep smiling

Wow watching teeth move is BORING!!! So everything seems to have settled down, no more pain. My upper front incisors have moved forward and are not hitting my lowers anymore. I have a little gap on both sides now. My teeth are actually looking pretty good. I still have some open-ness around my canines that will need to be pulled together and my left molars aren't hitting great yet but its getting better.

In other news. School is going well, its getting close to midterm time already (omg) I don't know where the time goes sometimes. The kids are doing well, highschool football isn't doing very well this year (they have only won one game, ouch!!) Jr high football is doing well, so far they have won all their games, and my boy just finished up fall baseball. One of these days things will settle down a bit but I don't know when.

My next appointment is on the 23rd so three more weeks...sigh seems like so far away lol

You need to go to a ticker site and design your ticker, at the end it will give you several codes I use the bb message board codes it will look something like this information for the location of your ticker, it you want it to go in your signature you will have to go to your user control panel in the upper right hand corner, log in, choose user preferences and then signature, put the bbcode in the "signature" and then save. It will show up on all your posts now.
for pictures you can do the same, you will need to upload your picture to a photo hosting site, like photobucket. Now you can edit or size your pictures, once you do this it will give you a bbcode as well this time it will look like this [image] information for the location of your picture [/image]

New pictures almost two weeks since my last adjustment (sorry they are a little blurry was having problems with focusing today lol)

my lowers - this is the one that needs a little torque to get it in line. You can see how its a little behind the other teeth. Its not actually tipped back out of line, the whole tooth is behind the rest of them. They haven't started trying to get this little bugger in line because my uppers were pushing on these teeth keeping them from getting in line.

uppers - my awesome (not) little gaps that the lovely coil springs have made. This is to push my upper front 4 incisors out infront of the lowers. It has done its job mostly however my lower lateral incisor on the right is still meeting edge to edge with my uppers so I bet that I have more advancement ahead of me. The ortho said they would fill in the gaps with bonding to make my laterals on the top a little wider.

(notice the red irritated gums - I think they are being pinched a little bit with the springs pushing against the uppers, I have been babying them to see if I can get them better and its improving but still sore)

Your teeth are straight , it looks like your lower needs some space to get all the teeth aligned !

they are definitely getting there I'm getting a little impatient to get to work on my bite since its so wonky right now. Hopefully a little longer with these springs and my uppers will give my lowers enough room.

The sore spot is getting much better. My bite plane I wear at night irritates it so I may no wear it tonight. I wonder if that was the problem all along. With my teeth shifting forward the bite plane isn't fitting perfectly like it was before so it moves around a bit at night when I grind. I will have to ask the ortho about that next time. Two more weeks til my next appointment

Ahh! They look soo good! But you must be ecstatic! And I am loving the red. How much longer are you supposed to be in them?

@Gilly - I am excited for them to get straight. As far as how long?? original estimate was 24 months, so I'm guessing a while longer I'm not really thinking about getting them off yet. The original reason to get them in the first place is because my bite is all wonky.. so the rest of this time will be in perfecting my bite. I was just telling my husband this weekend I was tired of them...LOL. But to be honest they aren't really bothering me all that much so I will just be patient

Thanks Smorse!!! It's a crazy journey but it's definitely worth it. I have good and bad days, some days I don't mind my braces at all, others not so much. I had a day last week I really was ready to have these buggers off my teeth, but today I'm okay with them The "look" of my braces is much better now that my wires are straighter and everything mostly looks level from a distance (i have to have some personal space LOL)
