Hi,
I used to post here, so thought I would update you guys.
I had an anterior open bite, reverse overjet (class 2), with my chin being off the centre of my face. I have undergone jaw surgery to correct it, and I must say I am thrilled by the results. Even though I am still very swollen, losing weight with the elastics breaking off. One visible difference I can see already is that my chin is in the centre of my face, and I have a more defined jawline.. I was previously very depressed over this due to the inability to smile with my teeth showing.
Anyway, for those that have had it - I am wondering how your self esteem improved after jaw surgery.
Cheers.
YYY

Glad to hear you're happy. What kind of jaw movements did you have? Who was your surgeon?

Not too sure about the details, but I had double jaw surgery - top and bottom jaws were rest. I think the top was moved forward, with the bottom rotated so that my chin is realigned.
Currently wearing rubber bands to keep my bite stable.
I got it done on the NHS.
