Bite Issue

#1 Post by Jester321 »

Hello all,

I recently stumbled upon this website a few times while googling a problem I seem to have (or I at least think it is a problem) with my teeth. Whenever I bite down, the right side of my teeth do not meet at all. From a visual standpoint, there is empty space in between the uppers and lowers when I bite down. I'm not real good at explaining this in depth so I'm going to link a few pictures to help.

From the Front:

Right Side(Problem Side)

If anyone has any input on what it may be it would be much appreciated!

It sounds like you have a posterior open bite.

I found some images but they look much more severe than yours: http://ars.els-cdn.com/content/image/1- ... 73-gr4.jpg

Hi Jester321:

I couldn't link to your images, but I have the same problem as you. Horrible bite that first required some jaw alignment, then braces. I'm not sure what your question is, but thought I'd respond so you know you're not alone. I just posted a question, 'Should I look for a new orthodonist?' so you can guess what my immediate issues are. Check it out. You can also see the images I posted of my horrible bite.

If I can be of any help so that you can avoid some of the problems I'm having, please let me know.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to see my family dentist next Wednesday and will be bringing up this issue. Does anyone know what I should expect in terms of treatment options so I can go in with at least some knowledge of the situation?
