I LOVE my waterpik....that was one of the extras I did buy when I first had braces put on. Like other comments, I use mine multiple times during the day - everyday....but I love it more when my gums are sore. I use it almost like a massager. It just helps sooth the gums when my teeth are aching. Plus, on days when everything feels more sensitive, I feel ok only using my waterpik and not flossing...definately will not be disappointed with a waterpik.

There must be something wrong with me. I don't like mine much. It tickles my mouth and makes it feel kind of itchy, I get water everywhere (including down my chin) and I don't feel like it really does anything my interdental brushes and a toothbrush can't take care of. I want to love it, but I don't.

I have mixed feelings about the waterpik - it has definitely helped me with removing stuck food particles in my palatal expander that are otherwise hard to get to, but I still brush and floss every night in addition to the waterpik because I don't feel that it does a great job getting the plaque off of your teeth. It seems like it just doesn't get a good scrape on your teeth like regular floss does (or maybe I'm just using the wrong head or technique). I bought the regular ultra model to keep at home and the portable ultra one to keep at work, and it has certainly come in handy for a quick blast in the middle of the day when I don't want to do the whole song and dance at work.
