had an adjustment on tuesday!
went well.. changed top powerchain back to silver. changed bottom wire and added a kink in it to straighten one particular tooth and added bottom power chain in silver (wasn't loving the purple)
he had to leave one of my bottom brackets open as he couldn't close it when he put the kink in it.. nearly jumped out of the chair with pain!
also added two more hooks on the bottom for my elastics.. now in class II triangles to retain my bite and only wearing elastics at night

hoping I'm somewhere near the end of my braces journey!
next adjustment december 11

i did post pictures just the other day but here are some with my silver power chains and new hooks 8)

normal smile

big smile showing new lower hooks and lower power chain!

also quick question if anyone reads my story still..
do you get your teeth cleaned by a hygienist with your braces? if so does your ortho or regular dentist do it?
thanks :)

Your teeth are looking great!!!

I go to my regular dentist. I keep my archwire in too. My ortho's office would do it, but they don't take insurance and I don't want to pay out of pocket for it so sticking to my regular dentist and hygienist is my best bet.

oh okay, I'm sure my mum rang them and they said that they don't do it until the braces are off :/
however my ortho said to do it every 6 months and i haven't had it done once yet since being braced
i will have to ring the ortho and ask what to do as these teeth are needing a clean!
thanks again

Very very great progress!
I'm 38 years old from Italy and I started my treatment on September. Ceramic braces on the upper and on the lower teeth.
Little progress in my situation...

my adjustment today was.. painful :?
both powerchains changed
lower wire changed with 'finishing bends'.. sounds good to me
asked about wisdom teeth - they are definitely coming through which means a trip to the dentist :|
next appt is early feb due to them being closed for xmas however next appt is also finishing bends on top wire which sounds promising!
i didnt ask when they are coming off incase it is not the answer that i want to hear..

Hi! I posted my new picture in my thread. I hope, in the future, to have the same good effects that you've got with your treatment! But, for the momenti, nothing... ;(

had my adjustment last week!
everything is going really well :D

ortho took both power chains and wires off to take a look at everything then put more finishing bends in wires and new power chains
still wearing class II elastics 12 hours at night
said everything is looking great and we should be finished soon.. whenever 'soon' is!
i go back in 6 weeks again to see how everything is.. and then hopefully i get to know a debanding date

can't believe soon this journey will finally be over  my teeth have come so far it is amazing!

They look fantastic. Look forward to your debraced piccies :-)

I too suffered a severe dental phobia as a teen, which I felt a rude/child unfriendly dentist and pressure about braces was to blame. About 15 years down the line after those memories I have done it for myself.
