Good luck! I just got home from my first adjustment - they removed the old wire, the dental hygienist cleaned (great to be able to clean without a wire), the ortho came asked me how I was getting on. Told me what sort of movement had happened, and put in a new wire. slightly thicker than the last one. I was in and out within 30 minutes.

Hope all goes well for you tomorrow.

Hope it went well!

Today was my second adjustment. The first was no problem at all; the orthodontist unclamped and then reclamped a few of the brackets (self litigating) and there was a little bit of pressure for a couple of days, but nothing serious.

The adjustment today was a bit more of an ordeal though - he added a second piece of wire on my lower jaw that goes from the front two teeth to the second to last molar and it's quite uncomfortable. Also, a 2mm gap that had appeared between two of the teeth has completely closed. After not much movement in the last couple of months, it is good to see something finally happen!

Thanks everyone! So far so good. The ortho Said it was good my teeth are moving fast. He left my top the same and put a thicker wire on the bottom. A metal chain thing and a rubber band to help close the gap. No pain yet but I definately loaded up on Advil!! So far nothing like getting braces 7 weeks ago!

@dc04321. Good luck! Everyone is different. I didn't have as much pain as I thought I would. I think I used enough wax to make several candles! Lifesaver. I also love my waterpik.

How are you doing now? I hope the metal chain and rubber band are not bothering you too much. Isn7t it get your teeth are moving so quickly? You much have been delighted when he said that.

I'm doing better with the chain part then the new spots it started rubbing in different areas. Back to the wax! It is crazy how much the rubberband and chain has closed the gap! Love it. I am ready for the hole to be gone. I am so excited the ortho said I was moving quick!! I really can't believe how fast it has gone.

That's great! I haven't got any elastics yet.....I hope when/if I do, they work as fast as yours! I know what you mean about when one spot stops rubbing another one starts.
