Hello. I have had my Damon Q metal braces now for 6 weeks now and I have seen little movement. My bottom teeth have moves quite a lot though. I should begin by saying that I had a baby tooth where my adult tooth grew (canine) behind it at the age of 22. I am now 24 and decided to get braces after discovering that I still had a baby tooth. The tooth has been pulled and I don't have a bracket on the tooth because its too far back, and the gap needs to be opened up. My ortho put a spring on the wire a little over 2 weeks ago, but i don't see any movement. Aren't springs suppose to really move teeth fast? I feel a bit disheartened and nervous that it will take a lot longer for this tooth to come forward. My teeth constantly hurt too. It's annoying. Has anyone had a similar experience?
Also, when do you get the next wire put on? is it 2 or 3 months? I'm hoping that its next visit.
I hope that made sense. I can't upload a picture at the moment either. Sorry. Ill try soon.
No upper teeth movement with my Damons.

Re: No upper teeth movement with my Damons.
Hi. I can't answer all your questions. I have Damon Clear SL on the top and I think Clarity 3M (non SL) on the bottom. I've found my bottoms have moved while my top teeth haven't. Perhaps bottom teeth are easier to move? I'm not sure, but I figure they'll move eventually
My teeth hurt constantly too. Not all of them all the time, but certain teeth hurt for a few days, then stop and others hurt. They all always feel a little bit odd and sensitive though.

Just because you aren't seeing a lot of movement doesn't mean it isn't happening. Frustrating, I know.
I have Damon clears on top and metal Damon's on bottom. I had my uppers first. I did see a bit of tooth movement quickly with the uppers, but with my lowers, I've seen very little obvious changes. Turns out that there is a lot of arch development happening. I was slow to move out of my first couple wires because of this. I've had my lower braces on for over 5 months and I'm still in my first wire. He will move me to other wires and start tweeking specific teeth as my arch is into the position it should be first.
Other than one wire that I only had for several weeks, I've been in most of my wires for a very long time. The Damon wires are pretty high tech and do their job well without frequent changes.
It might be good to ask your orthodontist about what changes you should be anticipating. He/She should be able to communicate with you about your next steps. Mine does.
Does your orthodontist take pictures at each visit? If so, they may be able to help you understand your progress through those even when you aren't noticing it.
