HELP!Essix does not have a perfect fit in upper right molars

#1 Post by lau »

Just got my essix retainers 54 hours after debanding - and it doesnt fit like a glove on my top back molars.
I think I am going to go see the ortho-- i told her about it right away she said, it will fit in a little while, but 5 hours after it is still the same. what is a little while?

I'm probably not much help, I'm only just starting out. Maybe give it a day and if it still feels wrong tomorrow call again. I would imagine that retainers that don't fit will move teeth and you don't want your teeth to be moving after all the hard work you've put in to have them looking good.

Thanks Tobilei- you were right, i woke up this morning and the retainer is almost a perfect fit.
I hope at one point my top retainer starts to be easy to pop in and out as the bottoms :D
Tks
