Burt's Bees tinted lip balm! A good dose of color, moisturizes chapped lips, but doesn't get on your brackets!
Braced: 11 Feb 2013
Debraced: 13 Aug 2014

Actual duration: 18 months

I am wearing lip balm (chapstick) and Cover Girl light gloss (pale colors) and have worn a brighter color also - had no problems. The lip balm helps.

I use the stain/ gloss routine regularly with a heavy emphasis on the gloss. I keep a lot of mirrors around, car, office, bathroom, every purse, etc. and lots of tissues for quick repairs when needed. Deep Pink
Great website for tips on this subject Intothegloss

Another vote toward tinted lip balms...

I usually did a chunky lip pencil and good ol' chapstick over it.

Nothing too bright...I feel the contrast just makes your braces go 'PUHHYAH, look at me!' Not good, lol

Yes I wear lipstick! I have switched to a lighter shade now that I have braces, but I'm not sure it was the braces or if it was just time for me to "lighten up."

I haven't had ANY trouble with it getting on my Damon clear braces. Although, it used to get all over my before-braces teeth. I don't know the why of it.

I am very proud to have braces finally--and I look better with a little brightness on my lips.

I have ceramic on top and metal on bottom and have never had a single lipstick incident!

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain (I think that's the whole name, lol)....is really great with braces! I like the Adore color, but there are tons of pretty ones.

I'm all about the lip stain! Although I'm thinking that I'd like to experiment with some brighter colors now - if people are gonna look at my braces they might as well have a pretty frame :-)
