About to get braces off and Teeth Do Not line up

#1 Post by taylorbraces »

I have had my metal braces for three years for an overbite. I am scheduled to get them removed next week but realize that my two center front teeth are not centered and the bottom teeth are even more not centered. All the pictures I look at of perfect teeth after braces the top and bottom teeth are centered in the center of the top lip. Does anyone else have this issue?
I will post a picture of this tomorrow

I also have an asymmetrical midline but it is skeletal and cannot be corrected by braces alone. You need to talk to your ortho and find out why you have one. If it is a dental issue, he/she may be able to do something to improve it.

I am scheduled to get my braces off in 6 weeks. Last week, I felt like 2 teeth looked like they were rotating and one like it was beginning to protude, so I made an appt...I wanted to see if it was just my imagination. So, ok, ya, just wanted a quick look-see...the "adjustment" was more like shades of 2 years ago--My teeth hurt for 3 days after!!! It was not a quick look-see!! I was right, things were going whack-o!! :yikes:  But apparently to him, my problems were just some cosmetic tweaking...ok...hmmmmm...

I see him again in 2 weeks for a final appt, and x-rays. If everything is going ok then, I will be going ahead with my appt 3 weeks later for whatever they do the week before debanding, and then one week later is debanding. HOWEVER, I will not get them off if I don't feel like they are looking the way that I want and expect that they should! I don't care if I feel like I need to make that choice on debanding day--I want them to look the way I think $5000 teeth should look!

I can tell you after being caught off-guard with de-bracing last time I traveled this road... I'm going to be nit-picky as heck, and I recommend you are too! Once my braces were off last time, I wasn't very happy with the result, but just went with it since my teeth were obviously better than when I started, but I began to notice issues that were obviously too late to address. You bet I'm not about to let this new orthodontist off the hook with my overbite/jet that's still not where it needs to be yet, my midline being off this much, and a couple gaps that the powerchain still hasn't tackled yet.

You've (likely) paid a lot to get stuff fixed, if you're not satisfied, I have a feeling you'll regret it. I did.

Hope it goes well... and SMILE!

Please talk to your orthodontist! I was not ready to get mine off either and I talked to him. He gave ma bands to fix my issue.

Thank you guys for your help. I really want to post pictures of this but I cant figure out how.

The top two middle teeth are off center to the right and the bottom are off center to the left.
My dentist AND orthodontist says this is fine and I can get them removed this week. ( they are friends)
People say it looks weird
I KNOW it looks weird
I want these off NOW but spent 5000 and want perfect teeth. They fixed the serious overbite I had BUT I don't even get how the top teeth could be pulled to one side and the bottom to the other side. I also have a little gap now between my top center teeth. I don't even care about the gap I care the teeth are off center. Could that just be the way my bite is? I am FREAKED OUT.
I have to post a picture. I really need opinions.

I think you have to have 7 posts before you can put up any pics...start posting a few replies or comments on other topics till your user name on the left turns from green to red..then you should be good to go.

Do you have before pics? I agree, your midlines are off, and that gap would bother me. You're obviously not happy, don't get them removed until you are.

Can you show us a picture when you're biting on your back teeth so we can see the alignment then?
