Bands on the 4th
Just got my full metal braces Thursday, but have to return for spacers on the 2nd and 4 molar bands on the 4th( upper and lower). I have to have these because I have 8 molar crowns! I know these are uncomfortable be caused I went through braces as an adolescent( didn't wear my retainers). Anyone out there have molar bands?

not sure if you are still roaming these forums, but yes, I have two molar bands up the top for an appliance I have in my mouth. I will be getting my braces next week, and I will need more spacers for bottom molar bands I am sure.

Another regal crowned one here, 6 or 7, I've lost count. They've managed to bracket mine, so no bands yet (one month in. I may get them at some point, but so far, I'm all in brackets.)

4 molar bands for me! Have a TPA on the top and my ortho just prefers using molar bands for everyone. I hated spacers ): the worst week of my braces journey. Oh well it's all for the better!
Upper braces off after 636 days!
Re: Bands on the 4th
I have 6 bands - two on top for an expander that was just taken out (it snapped into the bands, so I still have them), and four on the bottom for another expander. Upper and lower 2nd molars, and on the bottom, I guess they'd be premolars (2nd molar band, bracketed tooth, then another band).
When I began treatment in mid January this year, the spacers only made things a bit uncomfortable the day after getting them, and they felt tight for 3 or so days, no more discomfort than that. The bands themselves squeezed right in and are quite comfortable - I don't even feel them and it doesn't feel at all like I have something stuck between my teeth. Then again, it is different for everyone.
You'll be fine

This has been my experience too. The spacers didn't hurt, but felt like something was stuck between my teeth for the first day but no pain or discomfort after that. I have 2 molar bands on my lower first molars. I don't notice them at all. I've reached the conclusion that I'm pretty much orthodontically insensitive!anarchy45 wrote:I have 6 bands - two on top for an expander that was just taken out (it snapped into the bands, so I still have them), and four on the bottom for another expander.
