Thats great your teeth are moving so quickly and you might be getting the bite guards removed! Iv got used to mine but they are still irritating so hopefully my dentist suggests this for me at some point soon too! Its also good to hear you're seeing more movement now compared to your first month. Im just over 3 weeks in and havnt seen much movement yet so hopefully things get going quicker after my first adjustment!

Second adjustment.... woohoo.

Bite guards are still there but I have a new wire on my bottoms. Everything is going to plan. I'm a bit freaked out that my uppers seems to be off-centre but apparently the first wire is on to move my incisor forward and they will all be in flux until this is done. Once the second one goes on, the arch gets refined etc...

All good! I'm happy. YAY.

Thanks! I'm really pleased that they've moved much faster than I was expecting. I am hoping this next month will see my incisor move into the arch so I can move up a wire and have the bite guards off.

Perhaps I'm being overly optimistic, but I'm really hoping that I can have them off sooner than I was initially told. They said that my bottoms will be done before my uppers and that they are a month behind. Was intially told 8 or 9 months for everything to be done. Looks like my bottoms will be 6 months... so maybe I can hope for 7 months on the top!

I'm afraid to ask how long i'll have mine on for. I'm just going to assume it'll be six months.

I caved and had my first coffee since getting them on today. I knew I shouldn't have but I couldn't stop myself. Full of regret now as they've gone a lovely shade of light brown

@kt87 - I'm thrilled! I'm a little freaked out that they are in weird places, but the dentist assures me that it's just to get them all in the arch before the next wire goes on and refines the positioning!

@paulas1 - My estimate was based on how much movement was required in that one tooth. It still has 3 or 4mm to go to be in line with the two next to it so I doubt I'll be done in 6 months! Most people are, though. I still have coffee, I just have it as a treat after my bands have been changed and more regularly as my adjustment approaches... it doesn't seem to get too bad until the week beforehand.

@duendecilla - Thanks! It's all going to plan. It's nice to have a tooth appear in that gap :-)

I'm doing a little happy dance around the office today. My teeth have been moving super fast and my naughty tooth is now in line with my lowers. It is only 2 or 3mm away from being in line with the rest of my teeth!

You can't imagine how much this small change means to me. I used to look like a didn't have a tooth and now I have a full smile! Now for all the refinements!

Sooooo happy today. I should have had braces years ago!

Counting down to my 3rd adjustment now (which is next Wednesday morning) and I am so very thrilled with the progress. I'll wait until next week to post pics, but I've seen so much movement (since I last posted even).

My upper lateral incisor is now in front of my bottoms and almost in line with my top arch. I think I have about 1-2mm to go for it to be in line. The temporary issue I had with my front teeth overlapping seems to be resovling itself, too. My bottoms are pretty much perfect now.

I'm struggling to see, at this rate, how the braces could be needed for the full 8 months but I don't want to tempt fate by hoping too hard.

I did lose another bracket eating an oatcake (really... an oatcake)... but it's a regular one not a metal hook. Scared to tell them as it's my 3rd in so many months! I'm sure they'll be cool, though!

3rd adjustment and a VERY happy braced lady :-)

My estimated de-bracing date has been brought forward by a month! Now looking at a September finish (a 7 month treatment time as opposed to 8/9 originally forecast). My gum line will still need some work a few months after my de-brace, but I can live with that!

I have a new wire on my uppers (yay) and had a bracket replaced. On wire 2 for both sets now. Hoping now that I can sort out my right upper canine, as it needs pulling in a bit!

Also, here is a month by month movement pic of my uppers... day 1 through to adjustment 3! Love it!
