Looks like us Aussies are pigs and just use our hands if we can lol!  :-*
I can understand why you Aussies tear your food apart with your hands. You haven't seemed to master efficient use of eating utensils. I have been on many cruises with Aussies and I always marvel at how they use their knives to push food up on the bottom of their forks. So inefficient. There is a reason that forks are curved and have tines. I wonder how you use your soup spoons? :-*
Haha, my husband does this! Drives me nuts! I just prong my food with the fork (sandwiches however are to be eaten with hands, not knives and forks :P )
I can't quite picture this. Do you mean the fork is turned upside down, or just that the knife is used to get the food onto the fork instead of spearing it?

Yeah, kind of use the flat side of the knife to push the food onto the fork prongs.

With my bite blocks in, it is impossible to "chew" anything. I was literally in tears one day when I ordered a salad in public, without thinking...I was so hungry and frustrated on that particular day, I started to cry, lol. It's been a trial and error process ever since.

I'm preparing myself for this frustration! I'm getting turbos so don't know if this is the same as bite blocks but no doubt do the same job in keeping you from chewing properly?

Yeah I have those. They just feel weird. I've taken to just biting on them like a teething baby lately, since they have a little give.

@sablequeenie, LOL, I love that movie.

I avoid lettuce like the plague. I can't wait to be able to bite into a crisp apple. I can't wait to have a more spacious feeling in my mouth without the metal. Most of all I will never take for granted flossing again. It's what I miss most without the braces.

I've got an underbite that makes me look like a pug dog.. I'm looking forward to being able to bite into anything with my front teeth. It's more of a matter of chuck in and chew now.

Oh, and I also miss tearing Sellotape with my teeth. The simple pleasures in life...!

Along these lines, I'm looking forward to being able to speak to people again without spitting everywhere so often
