Hi! I am so happy to have found this forum. I've been lurking for a few months, but today was my consultation so I decided to finally sign up. I am 31 years old and about to get braces for the first time. I'm both terrified and excited. I am getting clear ceramic on both the top and bottom. I go June 5th to get the spacers put in and a week later I get my braces so I have 5 weeks to eat all the popcorn and gooey caramel candy I can to last me the next 24-27 months.

Hi and welcome :)

I just turned 30 (yesterday lol) and I have had braces for about 3 weeks now. I have metal top and bottom. Its an adjustment but you will get there!

My teeth are still sore and I still cannot bite into anything with my front teeth, I am hoping in a few more weeks they will settle down but my teeth are so sensitive I am not sure

Good luck with your braces journey and look forward to reading more
:D

Welcome! I also have ceramic uppers and lowers. I have molar bands on my bottom molars and had spacers for these. They didn't hurt me at all, although some people seem to have a rough time with them.
Enjoy the sticky carmel, pop corn and nuts!

First of all Happy Birthday rhibee83!

I am thrilled to see so many people in their 30s on here! I felt kind of weird in the office with all these parents and their kids. The dr said she has a bunch of adult patients. I wish we could all be scheduled for the same time. haha!

I made sure to eat a big bowl of popcorn the night before... which was last night. Just got my braces on today. I've seen people with braces eat popcorn, but i'm not going to risk it just yet.

Happy Birthday, Rhibee!

Were you able to eat anything yummy for your birthday celebration? I remember at first I couldn't even imagine eating cake. Ice cream, yes, but not cake. I think I could manage it now, barely.
