Thanks Jen- I should be fine- no real pain, just some minor irritation from the hooks rubbing. I am armed with wax and orabase so I should be able to take care of anything that might put a damper on a good time. Only one more working day left after today! Come on 5:00 FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!
I totally forgot about this forum until now! But it's been exactly a month since I got my braces on. I was in pain for the first 3-4 days, then it was uncomfortable for about a week and I could only bite into something with my back teeth. But I'm in no pain at all and I can eat almost everything :). I get my first tightening done on the 9th of August and I'm definitely not looking forward to it.
My dental assistant recommended ibuprofen before my first adjustment. I didn't take her advice and regretted it. My second adjustment with 4 ibuprofen (over several hours) beforehand was a breeze. My teeth were probably less sensitive the second time around but I'm not taking any chances from now on.
