Thanks for all your comments, it feels amazing to be brace free. The time is definitely worth all the hassle. I keep leaving the house thinking i've forgotten my elastics!

Yep I'm getting married 2 weeks on saturday so great timing!
I will still keep an eye on this forum, mainly to defend extractions in a lot of cases they are needed, i hate the idea that someone might avoid braces because someone told them extractions will make their face sink in :)

I've bought some whitening strips from boots, so far don't seem to make a difference but will try the full 7 days, if not then I will try the crest ones from ebay, if they don't work then i'll give up haha.

I bought an extra set of retainers for £120, not sure if that's a good deal or not? but I need them for peace of mind, i won't get them until Tuesday which will be over a week since i got debraced! but i trust my ortho as he's done most things right so far.

I feel that people treat you differently with better teeth, not that I was treated bad before just people seem to be friendlier? Who knows.. :)

Please keep us updated about this gap. As soon as my power chains were removed and my ortho started to talk about finishing up, I developed two tiny gaps. I can't wait to go in for the next adjustment to see what my ortho has to say.

I hope this tiny gap goes away, although it's not noticeable to anyone else but me grrrr

Well i got my essix retainer... wow it hurts ... actually took some painkillers for the first time since the early days.

Feels like being in braces from day 1 again, I think it's because my teeth moved during the week they were being done so I will wear them all day today again and hopefully it will become less painful. I'd rather have this pain than any movement so will see how it goes.

Plus I can't stop the ocean of saliva coming out of my mouth.

The orthodontist gave me some zoom whitening syringes that i can use in my trays so I'm going to give those a shot. I tried it for a couple of hours yesterday to see if my teeth were sensitive but nothing as of yet so will try a full night tonight.

Your teeth look fantastic!

I have not read the whole thread so sorry if you have already mentioned it - but were the extra set upper and lower essix or hawley?

£60 per arch for essix doesn't sound too bad, but then again I wouldn't have a clue what the average cost of a retainer is but I wouldn't mind paying that. I am assuming they are essix at that price, I've seen some people pay a lot lot more for hawleys  which is a shame because I want a hawley

Hi, I am pleased to say the retainer closed the front gap nicely, so that's good!

The retainers are essix, I didn't get offered Hawley so not sure how much they would cost, I think £120 is quite reasonable for peace of mind really, also the whitening stuff is great however I would only recommend it for a few hours a night rather than during sleep as I woke up with some shooting pain in my teeth 1 morning which wasn't fun :)

Look forward to reading how your whitening went as I want to do the same once my braces are off

Sorry for all the questions, but just curious if you also have a lower bonded retainer?
