Thanks Dee, yes I am so happy to finally have my bottoms! My mouth is really cut up inside from the new metal. However, I am working on seeing the positive and practicing gratitude in all things, including this. I feel really good about how everything is going, slow and steady progress is just fine with me.

Next adjustment is soon, the week after next, because my honey is deploying soon after. :( But it looks like he'll only be gone for about 6 weeks this time, so I'm thankful for that. Maybe I'll go with some patriotic colors this time, for the 4th of July and his deployment.

Hope all's well with you!

Hi Ellabelle,
Glad to know you finally got your lowers on but sorry to hear that you're having an issue with cuts. Yuck. I think that's I've been so lucky because I haven't had ANY problems with things like that. Are you going to post some new photos? Can't help it.... I'm a voyeur at heart.
Sorry to hear that your sweetie is going to be deployed. I hope it won't be for long. I hope he's not going anywhere too, too dangerous. You take good care of yourself and the little one while he's away.
I think some patriotic colours would be wondergul! Go for it!!

Both of you are looking great  Sorry your other half is away :( Mine used to be in reserves. Not the same but I will never forget his initial 3 month training. Once a week phone calls and I was at home with 3 kiddies under 5. I missed him so much! (((Hugs)))

Thanks Tobilei! Oh, you're right that it's not the same; your situation sounds so much worse than mine. 3 months, 3 little tots, only weekly phone calls? Wow, you are a stronger woman than me!! He's "only" gone 6 weeks, we can video chat fairly regularly, and I only have his 4 year old daughter at home. It's only day four and I miss him so much my heart aches. The little petunia has a Daddy Doll, which I'd strongly recommend for any child with a parent deployed. Or a grandparent far away or anything like that. They're such high quality prints, on a hugable doll, and it has really helped lil E. "Daddy" can sit at the dinner table, come to the park, be in her arms at bedtime.I bought it before his last deployment and it was one of the best purchases I've ever made.

But I digress. I'm now vaguely remembering that this forum is about orthodontics. :-) To redeem this post, here's something braces-related, teehee. I told my honey he could take the WaterPik overseas with him. It'd only be a month and a half, I reckoned, I'd be fine. For follow-up on how that worked for me, please see the Snap I sent him at the drugstore counter:

Lol, sorry! Didn't mean it to sound like a competition :P Just that I could empathize. It sucked. It sucks whether you have kids or not and whatever is going on at home (or not). Night times were always the worst. In the evenings when it was our chill out together time (((hugs))).

Haha, well, obviously going without a waterpik was a big fail :P (I don't own one, they're like $150 or something insane in Australia  )

Hi Ellabelle
Hope the time will just FLY by. Your sweetie Weill be getting back about the same time I get out of the hospital. Know how you feel about the Waterpik. Once you get used to using one, it's hard to do without. Do lots of loving self-care things for yourself while he's away.
Where did you get the daddy doll?
Xoxo

Tobilei, I know you were only trying to empathize! :) That was so sweet and it definitely helped me see my situation from a different perspective! A good reminder to be grateful for all the positives. :) And that is flipping ridiculous about the price of waterpiks down under!

Dee, oh my goodness I had to pop over to your story to see what happened. You poor girl! I'm sending loving & healing thoughts your way!

I ordered the Daddy Doll from a company of the same name.

Hi Elabell,
Thanks for the info on the doll. I'm doing better today, one week post-op. my biggest problem is that I'm impatient to be stuck in the hospital for 8 weeks. Feels like it will take forever.
