2 months, 3 weeks in! (PICS)

#1 Post by Timetoshine »

Wow - massive changes happening in my mouth, great to see! I cannot remember a time that my front teeth were NOT crossed, so every mm is closer to goal! DISLIKE like how the lower teeth have got more crowded but understand it gets worse before better in my case...

Still have FOREVER to go though. Treatment estimated at 16 months, so 13 months to go...

Some days are better than others... some days I choose to ignore them (other than brushing), other days I am intrigued by the movement...

Its not what I call 'fun' , but very worthwhile!

One photo straight after having them on - can't even open mouth properly!

The other photo is from today (2 months, 3 weeks in)!!

Looking great  I don't think the bottom look more crowded at all. I think it's the opposite

Thanks... now I look with 'positive' eyes I can see what you mean - I suppose I was focused on the very front one that is now slanting slightly more, but yes the others ARE straighter! One more step closer... :)

Thanks to you all for the lovely comments - I am really happy to know my teeth are improving every day, although sometimes it feels like I am 'ticking off the days' until next adjustment/end of treatment... It is a great feeling to know that never again will my teeth be as they were... everrrrrr!

owab - its wonderful to see the front teeth moving isn't it! Do you have pictures up on the forum? I love looking at peoples progress pics :)

I forgot to mention - I am noticing the 'black triangle' between my two top front teeth now - not unexpected as they had been crossed for so long that the gum had some recession. The ortho said he would do some filing to straighten the contacts.

Also, although I am in LOVE with my nice new straight gum line, my top teeth are uneven along the bottom - I am hoping the ortho will be able to file these straight??

Any ideas when the ortho does this sort of filing - as he goes, or at the very end of treatment??

I'm glad you're seeing them with positive eyes now :) It's very easy to study study study and hate every little thing that's wrong instead of noticing the good stuff that's happened (I know because that's what I do!).

The filing generally gets done towards the end of treatment when you still have a couple of months left to refine things but not so long that teeth will be doing major moving any more. My daughter had a little filing done about 3 months before her debrace date.
