2 Years with braces

#1 Post by Catlady »

As I'm nearing the end of my journey, I thought I would share with you what my teeth look like now. I have an appt. early Aug. for a evaluation. Supposedly in this evaluation, he will tell me if I'll get them off next appointment. What do you guys think? Are they ready? Now that I'm almost done with braces I'm constantly freaking out thinking they are not ready to come off. Please let me know any of your opinions, I would greatly appreciate it!!

Lots of love,
Catlady

Woah you have hooks on your front teeth! Never seen that before, cool! Your teeth are looking fabulous! I'm sure you'll get your braces off soon and then you'll have a stunning smile (:

Thank you so much for your kind words! I have front hooks because I once had elastics across my front teeth to a lower tooth on the bottom to fix my midline. That was my previous adjustment appointment. When I was getting a new wire, she kept the hooks on even though my midline was fixed (Saving money I guess? LOL). I asked to get them removed, but she couldn't.. so now I'm stuck with them (CUTE right? NOT). My midline was fixed but once I got these new elastics (The triangle) it shifted again. Maybe they'll use them again? It's really embarrassing though! Every time I smile all I see is two antennas sticking out of my front teeth. :p

Have a nice day!!

I think they look great. I remember when I was told I would be debraced the next appointment, I wasn't sure as I didn't think my teeth looked "perfect". They look completely different without the brackets on, trust me. They look so much bigger and better. Depending on whether you need it done or your ortho, he/she may do some fine tuning to shape your teeth and do minor shaving to make your teeth looks uniform and even more perfect! Don't freak out about the midline too much.. not everyones midline is BANG on after debracing. I remember mine was at a certain point, then near the end it was off a bit. It is more esthetics than anything, but at the end of the day, you are paying for it so if it bothers you a lot, you can bring it up with your ortho.
