Clicking/cracking teeth sound

#1 Post by jtsang »

Anyone else experiencing a "click" or "cracking" sound when you use your tongue to push on your teeth? Its not all the time, just very now and then, when i use my tongue to push on my teeth, i would hear the "click" sound. Sometimes when i bite down, the teeth with the molar build up would make the same "click" sound. I hope it's not because I am crazy and hearing things...

Perfectly normal. I've been experiencing it on and off since around week 2.

I get that too, kind of sounds like when you grind your teeth. I was getting freaked out thinking my teeth had all just loosened. So i guess this is normal?

Yea... mine actually reminded me of when I was little and a tooth would just be starting to loosen. I can remember a specific crackling sound and had a mini freak out when I heard it a couple months ago.

Totally normal though. It comes and goes with different teeth :)

It seems to be normal as a few people have mentioned that on this site. Mine started clicking today and it's so much fun to play with!

I really started to hear this yesterday and am really hearing it quite frequently today. I love it. It's confirmation that there's some movin and shakin going on in my mouth and that these braces are doing their job!

You will definitely know when you feel it/hear it :)

Holy cow! You sure have more adjustments then my Ortho does ... I am kinda jealous! We only get apts every 8 weeks at this point. I still have 14 days till my 2nd adjustment!! I had to go in today to have the accursed molar build ups looked at, and was told that I prob will NOT be able to move into a square wire on the bottom yet due to the lower lateral tooth that will just NOT MOVE!! :-= :-= . I will be able to move up to the next round wire... but I am anxiously waiting for the recursive wire on the bottom to help my deep curve of spee!!! :soremouth:
How has the braces been going for you? I can't ever seem to find your thread listing to check on your progress. I only ever find you thru comments you make on other peoples threads. Do you have one that you started?

I've only had mine on a little over a week and my bottom teeth click pretty regularly, maybe because of more crowding? Not sure but its definitely strange! I thought I was just imagining things!

I hear it all the time when I push my teeth forward or close my mouth really tight. I think I like the noise too because I feel like the teeth are moving, thought sometimes I'm afraid I'm going to crack one of my ceramic brackets.

One of my incisors popped up a bit and I find myself pushing down on it constantly. Not sure if that's a bad habit or not yet!
Stay positive!
