Debracing soon. Thoughts on teeth whitening? What route?

#1 Post by Cadet »

So I am debracing soon, and wondering if everyone also whitens teeth along with getting debraced?
My ortho provides teeth whitening but it is quite expensive, and I'm also afraid it will make my teeth sensitive.

I smoked for 5 years and quit 5 months ago completely, but the smoking had stained my teeth nevertheless.

What would/did you do?
Or would you just use the pharmacy strips, or any other method that you can do yourself.
Thank you guys in advance

I whitened my teeth professionally once and had great results, but my teeth were very sensitive for a few days after. I think it cost me $500 at the time. I now use Crest white strips and I think they do a good job too! Congrats and getting debraced! It must feel wonderful!

I have never done whitening before but plan to immediately after debracing. I figure I will have made it through this process successfully and deserve to treat myself. I plan to do it professionaly for two reasons. I have some bonding on a front tooth and I know that causes a challenge. I'm also getting married about a month later so I want to make sure I don't cause myself any issues that would ruin my wedding picture. I want to have a nice set of pearly whites for wedding photos.

Definitely wanting to get some whitening done after debracing, I'm aware of a place in Melbourne Australia (where I live) that charges like $350.

My teeth are average-whiteness... the whitening toothpaste definitely helped. But I want to make em perfect.

A good way to complete the teeth modification journey.

Ask your orthodontist if their office can make a tray for you for a small charge. Since they already have new models (used to make your retainer), actually making a tray is something that can often be done in-office.

I would go for prescription whitening over any over-the-counter product. You'll get much faster results that way, as the bleach will be a lot stronger. And real trays are always preferable to strips or OTC trays.
