Water pik vs regular flossing

I bought a pack of those the other night....I must not be coordinated....I could not get the hang of it! I gave up

I tried Floss Fish but found it was too much of a PITA. Though others have used it with good success. I couldn't find those Plackers locally but I did manage to find another similar product called P l a t y p u s Flossers. The things are life savers. There was no damned way I was going to thread floss every night on every space to floss my teeth. I did that for the first week and my teeth cleaning routine was around the 20-30 min mark. WAY too long if a guy is to remain sane.

You can get between the gum fairly well if you kinda tilt it and go in at an angle. I agree real flossing is better, but it still maybe performs at 80% or so of what real flossing does.

I don't see the need for a Waterpik. Like what was mentioned above, rinsing takes care of almost all the major stuff and certainly brushing does after. I may invest in one come surgery time though.

I used to say an interdental brush, floss and regular brushing are sufficient to keep my teeth clean and healthy before I bought a Waterpik. But after I began to use a Waterpik, cleaning my teeth is so much easier and quicker. It is true that I still could keep my teeth clean without a Waterpik, but why would I when I can do that a lot more easily and quickly with a Waterpik?

I have a hard time even with braces seeing the need for one.

Can you explain why it is so much better if it doesn't replace flossing or brushing?

Edit: maybe at the very back of the mouth I could see why.

I couldn't use them either so I gave them to my husband. I have gotten the flossing down to maybe 5 mins so doing pretty good with that.

As I said, cleaning is easier and quicker. Also I feel very refreshed after I use a Waterpik, and I don't feel that way with floss.

I didn't see the need for a Waterpik while I was wearing braces. But I kept running into people who said a Waterpik is great, after I was debraced. Finally I decided to give a shot. Now there is no way I will go without a Waterpik.

I always do the swishing with water after a meal. In the evening I swish, use the brace flossers (mine are similar to the pic but a different brand) and then brush. All while my waterpik sits there looking at me. lol

I love my waterpik! I still floss but using both gets my mouth really clean.
