I posted a while ago that thought I had noticed sme white spots on my teeth but as i had only had my brace on for a couple of weeks everyone reassured me that the dreaded white spots couldn't have formed that quickly.
However....i've now been braced for a month and I noticed this morning that along the bottom edge of a few of my top teeth there are some very suspicious white marks. Could I have decalcification within a month or so?? I have to admit I'm not the best at the brushing after every meal even though i have been fairly good at night at giving them a good going over.
Does anyone have any thoughts - i'm scared!!

Re: Still panicking about white spots
When I got my braces off, I had all kinds of strange white spots, especially underneath where the brackets/bands were. I was FREAKING out. I came into the dentist's office MAD convinced that somehow the braces had ruined my teeth. How could I be to blame for the parts UNDER the brackets. Turns out it was placque. The placque accumulates a lot faster because it likes to stick to the glue on your teeth (the glue is clear so you can't necessarily tell its still there). It came right off at the dentist and all is good again. Ask about it when you go in for your next cleaning. In the meantime, use a fluoride mouthwash which will help keep down the placque.

Probably should ask your dentist, but sounds like plaque. Plaque can develop in 24 hours
