Clarity ceramic brackets coming loose

#1 Post by Alli »

Has anyone ever heard or experienced the Clarity ceramic brackets coming loose more often than regular metal brackes?

I'm on my third one coming loose now after about 2 years. None of my metal brackets have come loose. I still have more than a year to go and I'm wondering if I'd be better off switching to metal.

I've had my Clarity ceramics for 11 months and I've had one of my brackets pop off while I was eating a pickle spear. I had 2 other ceramic brackets removed in preparation for extractions and they did not come off easily. Go figure.

I've had Clarity brackets on for 23 months, and haven't lost one yet.
Due for debaniding on 10/12, so I hope they come off easily when they need to!

clarity coming loose

Hi -

I had clarity ceramics and just switched to metal because I popped off so many I was losing ground. I have a LOT of movement needed and I guess the pressure was too much. Honestly I'm perfectly happy with metal self-ligating, they are smaller and I don't have to worry about staining ligs!
Braced 11/16/2004 Ceramic uppers, Metal lowers, one extraction. Serious midline discrepency, open bite, cross bite, crowding.
