Congrats! I just got mine 2 weeks ago! At first it was kind of weird because I was totally conscious of these things on my teeth 24/7. Now they're not too noticeable. What's funny is I have had my classmates ask me if I always had braces on this whole time. I think most people don't look hard enough before the braces to even notice when you get them.

"The only people who have bothered me about it, are the people at work. I'm on day two, and some people won't drop it. They keep asking me about them. And joking about them. Now I'm not going to lie, I thought I would be much more conscious, but I'm not. I just want everyone to drop it.

On the flip side. I get a bit more weirded out when someone DOESN'T notice. Never thought I would say that."

Tqz,
I am with you on this one. Most people have been fine. I have gotten questions as to why I got braces when I had straight teeth or comments like "I liked your smile." I then have to explain that it is not a straight teeth thing for me as much as 2 major bite issues wearing down my back teeth. Most people say nothing though. Which does disturb me more because they give me a look like they notice and want to ask but don't. It's a weird look. Would more prefer the questions than the look.

My ortho typically does just the tops to start first but I had actually requested they do the tops and the bottoms at the same time to get it out of the way. It seemed to work out fine. I have no complaints. The only thing that bothers me at this point is waiting impatiently for the 6-8 weeks between appointments. Seems ridiculously long to me.

I hope all continues to go well with you! Looking forward to hearing about your progress. Good luck!
